BASEBALL UNIVERSITY CERTIFICATIONS |

Coaches are integral in the development of today's
youth. We are teaching kids about more than
just baseball, which is why it is vital that all
coaches have the proper training before stepping
on the field. The Baseball University Certification
Program will provide coaches worldwide with baseball
teaching techniques that are appropriate for the
age group they are instructing.
How do you know what to teach a 10-year-old vs.
a 14-year-old? At what age do you introduce a change-up
or curveball to avoid injury while increasing development?
How can you be sure that you are teaching baseball
techniques correctly? The Baseball University
Certification Program has six levels of courses
that will educate and test a coach's knowledge of
the correct baseball fundamentals that should be
taught to a particular age group. If a coach is
not careful, he can introduce a technique that is
too advanced for a player and lose that player from
the sport. The Certification Program aims to develop
more qualified coaches and as a result, build better
baseball players and drive more players to the sport.
As part of the Certification Program, you will
receive online video footage demonstrating proper
techniques at the plate, in the field, and on the
mound. You will also be provided with detailed
written materials containing information on the
appropriate baseball skills for the particular age
group you are coaching, how to translate baseball
knowledge into instruction, promoting sportsmanship,
safety and injuryprevention. These materials have
been prepared by our content partners, Baseball
Factory and Team
One Baseball, in order to ensure that theyare
of the highest level.
After reviewing the teaching materials at your leisure,
you can login and take your final exam. After passing
this test, you will be officiallycertified for
three years by Baseball University, the leader
in online baseball education, to coach at that age
group.

Coach Certification
(Ages 5-6) (Course code: 101.4)
You will be provided with online video clips showing
the proper baseball techniques for players aged
5-6, as well as detailed written information. These
materials will focus on topics including the introduction
of throwing mechanics, proper hitting fundamentals
and fielding techniques. In addition, you will learn
about coaching strategies, practice schedules, safety,
injury prevention, sportsmanship and responsibilities
of parents, players and coaches as part of a team
in this age group. This information will prepare
you for coaching players in the 5-6 age group. Once
you have reviewed the materials and feel confident
in your understanding you will be given a test on
the information. You will be required to review
online video clips and identify the correct baseball
technique, as well as answer additional questions
in order to pass the exam. After you have passed
the test you will be officially certified by Baseball
University to coach the 5-6 age group for 3 years.

the mail.

age group. Once you have reviewed the materials
and feel confident in your understanding you will

certified by Baseball University to coach the 9-10

you for coaching at the 11-12 age group. Once you
have reviewed the materials and feel confident in
your understanding you will be given a test on the

to coach the 11-12 age group for 3 years. You will
