Mr. Nagler,
I would like to thank you again for the Dodgertown Experience. I had a great time and added many new tools to my belt. These are three of the most important things that I enjoyed the most.
1. The tournament play and team placement.
This was the best part that was given to me. My team was great and we all bonded very close for only knowing each other a couple of days. Also, not only was the team great, but the tournament allowed us to take our relationships to the field. The level of play was very challenging. As a player from the north, I haven't had the opportunity to experience the true game of baseball. At Dodgertown, I experienced the southern game of baseball; this game is much quicker when played and watched, and is played at a level of intensity unmatched to baseball back home in Michigan.
2. The coaches and instruction.
The coaches and instruction that was available to me at Dodgertown was very beneficial. The coaches there not only taught the game of baseball, but they took the time to explain their points to each player’s knowledge. My varsity coach in Michigan tells me that baseball is a game of opinions and that every opinion needs to be heard out and analyzed. At Dodgertown, each and every opinion given by a coach to me made me a better ballplayer. Even though my varsity coach and many of the coaches at Dodgertown shared the same opinions about the game, the coaches at Dodgertown were able to express them to me in a manner that I understood better. This allowed me to take what my varsity coach was telling me and fully utilize it.
3. The amount of play.
This was definitely one of the most beneficial parts of the camp. Not only was I able to learn from the coaches, but I got equal playing time in games so that I could use what I recently learned. There was no playing of favorites, or selection of position by skill level. Being an underclassman I got many innings that were comparable to upperclassman at my respective positions.
Thanks again,
