at Pirate City (Ages 14-18)

One of the top-rated spring training facilities in the nation, Pirate City is spring training home to the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Official Southern Home of Baseball Factory. Our professional staff works with you one-on-one on hitting, pitching, catching, fielding and base running. This event is invitation-only.

Players Receive:

Intense Training with Professional Coaches

  • Deliberate practice and training with directed feedback from our highly skilled instructors, morning until night
  • Participate in our advanced athletic development drills and testing assessments to measure where your game stands
  • Access to the Major League batting cages
  • Work with our pro instructors on all aspects of your game as they diagnose areas of improvement with corrective techniques in real time and together, create an action plan to fix your weaknesses and improve your strengths

Put your practice and instruction into live game situations

  • Participate in scrimmages and other game situations as our coaches make adjustments based on observations they see during live game play
  • Make changes to your mechanics now to help you find greater success during your high school season, when games really count

Additional Program Benefits

  • Updated Baseball Factory Player Page that you can email to promote yourself to college coaches nationwide
  • Your Baseball Factory Player Page will be updated with a written evaluation based on your performance at the National Spring Training event at Pirate City
  • Receive corrective videos targeted specifically for you to continue your development after the event

Pirate City is the Spring Training Home of the Pittsburgh Pirates in Bradenton, Florida. Players will eat and sleep in the same facilities used by Major League players and experience life as a professional!

Confirmed Event Staff Includes:

Drew Benes: Drew is currently a minor league pitching coach in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization and the son of former major league pitcher, Andy Benes. Drew was a two-way player at Arkansas State University and was drafted by the Cardinals in 2010.

Ryan Kennedy: Ryan is currently the head coach at Lakewood Ranch High School in Bradenton, FL. He won two national championships at the University of Tampa and then went on to play in the Los Angeles Angels organization.

Rich Pasquale: Rich is a Baseball Factory National Selection Scout and Senior Infield Coordinator and has coached at every level of college baseball. He currently serves as an Associate Scout with the Baltimore Orioles. Before that he was the hitting coach for the Washington Wild Things a professional independent team in the Frontier League. Previous college stints consisted of being the Head Coach at DI Youngstown State University and DIII LaRoche College. He has also been an assistant coach at DI Pitt and DII Slippery Rock University.

Teddy Regan: Ted is originally from Fall River, Massachusetts and has an extensive coaching background. He is a former assistant coach at Eckerd College in Florida. He has also coached in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League with the Bourne Braves and the Wareham Gatemen. He was the Director for River City Baseball for 15 years before his time at Eckerd College, and coached the USA/Japan International Friendship Series in 1996. The Fall River Herald News awarded Ted with the ‘Coaches Who Make a Difference’ award while he was an assistant at Bishop Connolly High School.

Important Event Info:

  • Program cost includes player lodging and three meals per day at Pirate City.  Airfare is NOT included in the player’s registration fee.
  • Players must travel to this event with a parent/guardian.  The parent/guardian must provide their own lodging, meals, transportation, etc.
  • Players will receive Baseball Factory jersey and hat.
  • Players will have access to water/Gatorade throughout the event.
  • Players need to bring all necessary baseball equipment for training and competition.
  • Players may bring spending money as needed for souvenirs and/or extra snacks.
  • Players receive online access to Baseball Factory’s Recruiting, Education & Development Manual to assist in their player development and college recruiting process.
