Rayne attended the Little League Youth Clinic & Skills Challenge in Williamsport, PA and was later invited to participate in a training camp with Baseball Factory at Pirate City, Spring Training home of the Pittsburgh Pirates. This involved Rayne making the jump to the big diamond and training with high school age players. Below are his father’s comments after attending this event with Baseball Factory.
Hi Steve:
Thanks for inviting Rayne to Pirate City. Coaches Bill & Nick Lockwood and the other coaches were absolutely excellent. Rayne had a great time and learned a lot. He was apprehensive moving to the big field for the first time but he held his own and performed well, from what I could see. His teammates were great, being very supportive to the younger players.
I coach and have been to five St. Louis Cardinals camps and I have to say that the quality of the instruction and the variety of innovative drills far surpassed anything I had ever seen. I took as many notes as I could to take back to my Little Leaguers next season.
Hopefully Rayne will continue to be invited to Baseball Factory events as he grows up - it was quite the adventure! Thank you.
