Overall Rating for Underclassmen

_________________________________________________________________________________

"Tier Rating"

Assigned to: "Underclassmen". For the purposes of this scale, a player is designated an "Underclassmen" prior to
January 1 of the year they will become a senior.

Example: 2010 graduate is an "Underclassmen" until 1/1/09, when he becomes a "Rising Senior".

Purpose: show how the player rates against players in his same graduating class

Example: 2010 vs. 2010, 2011 vs. 2011, 2012 vs. 2012, etc.

Scale: Letters A - E. Top = A, Bottom = E

The chart below shows the Tier Ratings and their descriptions along with the recommended focus for each level of player.

When an "Underclassmen" becomes a "Rising Senior"

Our scouts must see and evaluate the player once his designation has changed from "Underclassmen" to "Rising Senior"
in order to assign him a Class Rating.

Example: 2010 graduate with a Tier Rating must be scouted again after 1/1/09 in order to be assigned a Class Rating.

In order to make the most accurate and fair decision on a Class Rating, we want to make sure the player has been given
enough time to mature and develop as a baseball player. Until a player is considered a "Rising Senior", it is too early to
make that decision.
