11 Baseball Factory Alumni Have Been Selected to the 2010 MLB All-Star Game

Baseball Factory and Team One are proud to announce that 11 alumni were selected for the 2010 Midsummer Classic.  The 81st Major League Baseball All-Star Game will take place at Angel Stadium in Anaheim on Tuesday, July 13 at 8 p.m. ET.  Baseball Factory alumni representing the National League are David Wright, Ryan Braun, Roy Halladay, Chris Young, Brian McCann and Troy Tulowitzki.  American League alumni include Josh Hamilton, CC Sabathia, Justin Verlander, Ian Kinsler and Jose Bautista.

Former Team One National player and current New York Mets’ third baseman, David Wright, will be starting at third base for the National League.  Wright will be making his fourth start in his fifth consecutive All-Star appearance.  Wright has already hit more home runs than his season total from last year with 14, and his .314 average gives him six consecutive years of batting over .300 at the All-Star break.

Josh Hamilton was selected to his third straight All-Star game.  A 1998 Team One National participant, Hamilton will be making his third straight start in the outfield.  Hamilton has had arguably one of the best first halves in all of baseball and is a legitimate Triple Crown threat.  He is tied for first in the league with a .346 average, tied for second with 22 home runs and is fourth in the league with 64 RBIs.

Ryan Braun of the Milwaukee Brewers has been voted an All-Star game starter for the third straight year.  Braun, representing the National League in left field, played as a member of the 2001 Team One National team.  The fifth overall pick in the 2005 draft, Braun enters the break with 54 RBIs and a .292 average.

The Arizona Diamondbacks’ Chris Young was selected to the National League roster.  The 2000 Team One player will also be a participant in Monday’s Home Run Derby.  Young is the first Diamondback to be selected since Luis Gonzalez won the Derby in 2001.  It is Young’s first All-Star selection and he will be a reserve outfielder.

Baseball Factory and Team One would like to congratulate and wish the best of luck to all of our former players competing in the 2010 Major League All-Star Game and Home Run Derby.
