Kris Bryant Unanimously Wins Rookie of the Year
2008 Under Armour Baseball Factory Pre-Season All American, Kris Bryant won the National League Rookie of the Year award on Monday night, becoming just the 11th player to receive all 30 first place votes.
The Chicago Cubs 3B/OF mashed 26 home runs while hitting .275 with 31 doubles, 99 RBI and 13 stolen bases. The astonishing numbers paced all major league rookies in home runs, doubles, RBI, runs (with 87) and on base percentage (with .369).
The 23 year old led the Cubs to their first playoff birth since 2008 and their first playoff series win since 2003. In any other year, he would have received serious consideration for the Most Valuable Player award, but with a loaded group of sluggers in the National League, Bryant will have to settle for Rookie of the Year while setting his sights on higher accolades in the coming years.
Congratulations to Kris and to all the other Baseball Factory alumni who have been recognized for their outstanding efforts on the field.
