With excellent baseball instincts and a high motor, Anthony Volpe always seems to make big plays and be in the right place on the field. A shortstop, who can play anywhere on the infield, he has outstanding hands and active feet that put him into position to make plays. Those feet and an extremely quick release allow Anthony’s arm to play up from the left side of the diamond.

At the plate he has a short, repeatable stroke with the ability to barrel balls from line to line. He seems to wear out the right-center field gap and flashes some occasional pull-side power while seeming to always have a quality at bat.

While Anthony shows tools and an outstanding feel for the game, what stands out most might be the passion he exudes while playing. There is no doubt that he enjoys the game of baseball and he is the kind of competitor you always want on your side – a true winner.
