At 6’3”, 215 pounds, Tyler Locklear is an imposing figure in the batter’s box. Pitchers quickly learn, though, that he’s more than just a physical presence, as Tyler has an advanced ability to find the barrel. The ball jumps off his bat with a combination of bat speed and leverage to generate hard impact (96 mph exit velocity). His swing has natural loft to it as well, resulting in legitimate power.

Defensively, Tyler is athletic with sure hands and the ability to play either corner infield spot. He moves well laterally, reads hops and has an accurate arm. Everything about his approach to the game is refreshing as he plays it somewhat “old school” – aggressively with a business-like approach – grinding out at bats and doing whatever it takes to win.
