Baseball Factory Alumni Impact #1: Stand-Out Performances at Every Level

Follow along with us this season as we keep up with current and former Baseball Factory players who are making an impact on their team’s success. We will keep you up-to-date on the latest standout performances at the major league, collegiate and high school levels.

Major Leagues

Joey Terdoslavich – (2006 Cape Cod High School All-Star Game) Terdoslavich is looking to earn a roster spot this season for the Atlanta Braves and currently in spring training is hitting .357 (5-for-14) with four doubles and five runs scored. Last season in limited time with the Braves, was 3-for-10 with two doubles and two RBI.

AJ Pollock – (Baseball Factory Premium Video Program, 2005 Team One East, 2005 Team One All-Star Team, 2006 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-American) The starting centerfielder for the Arizona Diamondbacks is off to a fine start this spring, hitting .417 with two runs scored. Last season, Pollock hit .302 with 19 doubles, six triples and seven home runs in 75 games.

Randal Grichuk – (2008 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament) Grichuk was the Cardinals starting right fielder last postseason, hitting two home runs. He’s off to a hot start in spring training too, with 2 of his 3 spring hits being homers. Randal will see plenty of action in LF and RF this season.

Brett Eibner – (Baseball Factory Premium Video Program, 2006 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-American) Eibner is making his name known in the early going of spring training, blasting two home runs and a .571 average. A non-roster invitee, he’s a big-time power hitter on the radar for the Kansas City Royals.

Eric Hosmer – (Baseball Factory Premium Video Program, 2006 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-American) Hosmer had a huge postseason, leading the Royals to the World Series for the first time since 1985, hitting .351 with six extra-base hits and 12 RBI. This spring is no different for the Royals first baseman, with a .308 average, two homers and five RBI.

C.J.CronCJ Cron – (Team One West 2007, 2007 Under Armour All-America Game) Cron is a big-time slugger on a Los Angeles Angels team full of sluggers. After being called up in early May, Cron hit 11 home runs in 79 games. Cron’s 2015 start has been a good one, hitting .357 (5-for-14) with a double, home run and three RBI. He’ll see time at first base and at DH this season.

Under Armour All-America Baseball 2009Nick Castellanos – (Baseball Factory National Tryout, 2006 Dodgertown World Series, 2009 Under Armour All-America Game) Nick shook off a slight hand injury in the early going of spring training. X-rays came back negative and he’s gone back to hitting the baseball well, with a double, home run and four RBI this spring.

 

 

 

 

 

Under Armour All-American GameJose Berrios – (2011 Under Armour All-America Game) The Minnesota Twins best pitching prospect has looked sharp in his three innings of work this spring, allowing just one unearned run and striking out two batters. He’ll likely start 2015 in Triple-A, but should move to the majors pretty quickly.

 

 

 

 

 

Erik Goeddel – (2005 Cape Cod High School All-Star Game, 2005 Team One National Underclass Game) Goeddel made his major league debut last season for the New York Mets, working six games with an ERA of 2.70. He’ll be in the mix for a bullpen spot this season and currently has thrown three innings of work without allowing a hit or a run.

College

Will Craig – (Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout) Will is celebrating an ACC Player of the Week nod as the sophomore hit .563 with three home runs, four doubles, seven RBI and nine runs scored for Wake Forest as the Deacons won three of four games. He’s reached base safely in 20 straight games dating back to last year and has an active nine-game hitting streak.

SheldonNeuseSheldon Neuse – (Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout) Neuse was named Big 12 Player of the Week for March 9th, hitting .688 (11-for-16) with three home runs and 10 RBI. For the season, Neuse is hitting .343 with a league-leading 22 RBIs, 16 runs and five home runs for the University of Oklahoma.

 

 

 

 

BrianMcAfee

Brian McAfee – (Baseball Factory Premium Video Program) McAfee was named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week to begin March after the senior’s dominating performance for Cornell against the Virginia Cavaliers, working seven scoreless innings and striking out seven batters.

 

 

 

 

StevenPallares

Steven Pallares – (Premium Video Program, 2010 Under Armour Pre-Season All-American) Senior center fielder Pallares won the Mountain West Player of the Week award to begin March. Pallares batted .526 with four runs scored, five RBI, four doubles and two walks during the week of Feb 24-28. Pallares leads the team with a .438 average for San Diego State (14-3 record as of 3/11/15).

 

 

 

Dante Flores – (Team One Futures Game Participant, 2009) Flores, a senior from Norwalk, CA, was tabbed the Pac 12 Player of the Week from USC. It was an outstanding week for the Trojans who went 3-1 and Flores led the way, going 7-for-16, with three runs scored, two doubles, a homer and three runs driven in.

JesseBogacz

Jesse Bogacz – (Premium Video Program, Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City, Under Armour Showcase: Team One North, 2013) Bogacz, a freshman at Kenyon College (D3 school in Fort Pierce, Florida) tossed a seven-inning no-hitter against Immaculata University on Friday, March 6th. Bogacz only pitched to three batters over the minimum, hitting one batter and walking three with eight strikeouts.

 

 

Gavin Culler – (National Tryout, Baseball Factory Christmas Camp and Tournament) Culler is a standout at Winston Salem State, a Division II school, leading the nation in stolen bases with 15, hitting .379 with two doubles, two triples, nine RBI and 20 runs scored for the Rams who sport a 14-4 record through 3/11/15.

High School

BoBichette

Bo Bichette – (2015 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament, 2015 Under Armour All-America Game) Bichette leads his Lakewood High School team with a .632 batting average, three doubles, two triples, four home runs and 18 RBI in seven games this season. We’ll see Bo play in the Under Armour All-America Game this August at Wrigley Field.

 

 

 

ChrisBetts

Chris Betts – (Premium Video Program, 2014 Under Armour All-America Game Participant) Betts, a senior at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, CA is hitting .471 through six games with three home runs and six RBI in the early going.

 

 

 

 

AustinRiley

Austin Riley – (2014 Under Armour All-America Game Participant) Riley is a senior at DeSoto Central High School in Southaven, MS, leading his team to a 4-0. start. Riley is hitting .750 with two home runs and nine runs driven in. On the mound, he’s 1-0 with six strikeouts in five innings pitched.

 

 

 

 

 

Cole SandsCole Sands – (Premium Video Program, 2013 Under Armour Futures Series East, 2014 Under Armour All-America Game Participant) Sands has been completely dominant on the mound for North Florida Christian High School in Tallahassee, FL this season, with a 2-0 record without allowing an earned run. Opponents are batting just .116 off Sands and he has struck out 19 batters in 19 2/3 innings pitched this season. He’s been good with the bat too, hitting .455 with three doubles and two home runs.

 

 

 

 

GregoryVelizGreg Veliz – (Premium Video Program) Veliz, a junior from Key West High School in Key West, FL has lit the radar gun up in the early going, with reports he’s touching 95 mph on his fastball. The numbers certainly back that up; 3-0 record with 32 strikeouts in 16 innings pitched. At the plate, Veliz is hitting .344 with five doubles, three triples and 14 RBI.
