Baseball Factory Alumni Performing Well to Start Pro Careers: Rounds 21-25

With the MLB First Year Player Draft almost two months in the rearview, players who were once high school and college phenoms are now professional baseball players. In rounds 21-25, 32 Baseball Factory alumni were chosen.

Let’s take a look at some of the players who have gotten off to promising starts of their young pro careers.

Nathan Rodriguez: Milwaukee Brewers (21st round, 621 overall), C

In the first 30 games of his pro career, Nathan Rodriguez is showing why the Brewers drafted him in the 21st round. The backstop is slashing .300/.403/.450 with three home runs and 16 RBI for Milwaukee’s rookie ball team. Rodriguez is also walking just as much as he is striking out so far (16 walks and 16 strikeouts in 30 games). Behind the plate, Rodriguez is cutting down 33% of basestealers.

Baseball Factory coaches first saw Rodriguez at the Ryan Lemmon Sophomore Showcase in 2012 and at the Team One Futures Series West Showcase in 2012.

Chuckie Robinson: Houston Astros (21st round, 637 overall), C

Chuckie Robinson has continued the success he had in college at Southern Miss with Houston’s Short-Season-A affiliate, Tri-City. Robinson is slashing .321/.387/.476 with 10 doubles and 10 RBI.

Connor Eller: Toronto Blue Jays (22nd round, 672 overall), RHP

Connor Eller already has three wins in his first 10 appearances in his pro career. In 22.2 innings pitched so far, Eller owns a 1.99 ERA and a 0.84 WHIP.

Baseball Factory coaches saw Eller at a 2011 Arkansas Tryout.

Ronnie Gideon: Milwaukee Brewers (23rd round, 681 overall), 1B

In 30 games for Milwaukee’s rookie ball team, former Texas A&M standout is crushing the ball. Ronnie Gideon owns a .290/.355/.542 slash line with seven home runs and 17 RBI.

Gideon attended a National Tryout in Carrollton (Dallas), Texas.

Nate Easley: San Diego Padres (23rd round, 684 overall), 2B

Kort Peterson: Kansas City Royals (23rd round, 703 overall), OF

Kort Peterson is continuing the success that got him drafted out of the University of California. With Kansas City’s rookie ball team, Peterson has a .910 OPS with 16 RBI in 25 games.

Peterson played in the 2012 Under Armour Southwest Championships.

Spencer Trayner: St. Louis Cardinals (25th round, 766 overall), RHP
