Baseball Factory and Team One announce Puma as the title sponsor of the Pre-season All-American Event in Tempe, AZ

Philadelphia Phillies RHP Gavin Floyd, New York Mets third baseman David Wright and Tampa Bay Devilrays shortstop B.J. Upton are a few of the MLB players who have participated in previous Puma Pre-Season All-American events.


COLUMBIA, MD, December 3, 2004 – The Baseball Factory and Team One have announced that Puma has signed on as the title sponsor of the 2005 Puma Pre-Season All-American Tournament in Tempe, Arizona, January 14-16, 2005.  The Baseball Factory, the leader in high school baseball player skills development and college placement has hosted the All-American event since 1999.  As a result of the recent alliance between the Baseball Factory and Team One, this is the first year that players from both organizations will play in the event together.  The tournament will be held at Tempe Diablo Stadium the Spring Training home of the Anaheim Angels.
 
As part of its sponsorship of the tournament, Puma will receive benefits including title sponsor recognition and logo placement on all event materials including t-shirts and hats, internet presence as title sponsor of Baseball Factory (www.baseballfactory.com) and Team One Baseball (www.teamonebaseball.com) websites, and merchandising opportunities at Diablo Stadium.  Additionally, the Puma Tournament MVP Award has been established to recognize and the player who demonstrated exemplary skills throughout the three days of the event.


The format of the 2005 Puma Pre-Season All-American Tournament will feature approximately 150 high school players in a 12 team wood bat tournament with teams broken up by region to compete for the All-American Tournament championship.  Additionally, players will rotate amongst stations that include pro-style workouts, video, instruction, tournament play, and speed and agility training.


“Puma’s support of the 2005 Puma Pre-Season All-American Tournament continues to reinforce their commitment to the game of baseball at all levels,” said Steve Sclafani, president of the Baseball Factory.  “Through the sponsorship of the pre-season event, Puma is helping to ensure that these talented high school players have an opportunity to be seen by college coaches and Major League Baseball scouts early in the season which will enhance their prospects for college scholarships or their draft position.”
 
Players participating in the three day Puma All-American Tournament will receive the following benefits:


? Each player will receive a Personal Player Web Page that will include a bio with contact info, video footage from the event; a scout’s summary with tool grades and an overall player rating.
? To maximize the players’ exposure, every college coach and Major League scouting director will be emailed, letting them know that video footage and scouts’ summaries from the event are available online.  They will be able to view the players’ performance at the event simply by clicking on a link.
? Pro scouts will be covering and instructing players at the event. 
? Scouts from every major league organization will be invited to attend the event.
? The 2005 Puma All-American Team rosters will be posted on the PUMA Baseball, Baseball Factory, and Team One Baseball web sites.
? Each player will receive a pair of PUMA Diamond Strategist Turfs, PUMA All-American team hat and jersey.
? The top 30 players from the event will be written up on the Team One Baseball web site.
