Baseball Factory Celebrates 15 Year Anniversary

Baseball Factory is very proud to announce our 15 year anniversary today, July 22, 2009. Drawin g on his personal college recruiting process and the struggle to find the right college, Baseball Factory founder and CEO Steve Sclafani was inspired to provide a service to high school baseball players that would help them through the process.  He understood how overwhelming it could be as a young ball player looking for a college that was the right fit both academically and athletically, and his vision to guide players and parents through the college recruiting process came to fruition in 1994 when Baseball Factory was founded in Columbia, Maryland.  Alongside San Francisco Giants scout Mike Toomey, who played a big role in Steve’s inspiration to help young baseball players, the first Baseball Factory event was held on this day 15 years ago as five local Maryland players were filmed in a workout session.   A short time later Steve was joined by current Baseball Factory President, Rob Naddelman, and together they began to build Baseball Factory into the nation’s leader in player development and college placement.

By 1997 Baseball Factory’s program reached over 1,000 players from 46 different states and had successfully placed 90% of participating players in a college baseball program.  In the years to follow Baseball Factory continued to provide a one-of-a-kind service in player development and college placement through instruction, tournament competition and college planning and placement.  In 2004, Baseball Factory added showcase opportunities to their comprehensive program by acquiring Team One Baseball, the number one baseball company for top-flight showcases.

Together Baseball Factory and Team One have produced over 2,500 drafted players and 216 Major League players.   Furthermore, over the last 15 years Baseball Factory’s prestigious college recruiting programs have placed over 25,000 players into college with over $500 million in scholarships.  Even more than the numbers, Sclafani had this to say about Baseball Factory’s accomplishments, “The greatest part about the past 15 years is the impact we have had on young people that goes way beyond the baseball diamond.  There is nothing better than getting a kid to believe in his ability and get the most out of him.  We really appreciate the opportunity that so many parents have given us to help shape their kid’s lives."

Baseball Factory’s program of professional instruction, showcase opportunities, tournaments, and on-going guidance in the college recruiting process took another step forward this year when the Factory announced a strategic partnership with Little League International.  The partnership was formed in order to provide youth players worldwide with increased player development and college placement opportunities.  With the hope of helping even more high school baseball players live their dream of playing college baseball, Baseball Factory announced a partnership with The American Legion this July.  These new partnerships are part of why the future here at Baseball Factory grows ever more exciting, and as we look to the next 15 years President Rob Naddelman is not only proud of Baseball Factory’s accomplishments thus far but excited for what the future holds. “We are very proud to be celebrating our 15 year anniversary this week.  Our staff at Baseball Factory takes great pride in the fact that we have helped thousands of high school baseball players achieve success at the college level.  We are very excited about the future and look forward to the years ahead.”

Looking to the future, Sclafani is excited to see what’s in store for the Baseball Factory.  He is proud to be a part of Baseball Factory’s journey over the first 15 years, “Rob and I have surrounded ourselves with an exemplary staff who are 110% dedicated to our mission of improving student-athletes both on and off the field,  and then helping them find the "right" college fit.  As the founder, I am enthused to be part of such a great team and appreciate everyone’s efforts here at the Factory."
