Baseball Factory College Alumni Notebook (3/5/19)
Baseball Factory’s College Alumni Notebook takes a glimpse into notable performances from around the collegiate ranks throughout the season. Steve Bernhardt, Chief Baseball Officer for Baseball Factory, provides information on Factory alumni.
Logan Allen | LHP | Florida International
Logan continues to do what he did last season and throughout high school – baffle hitters. In his last two outings, he has won both and struck out 22 in 11 innings pitched without allowing a run. The 2015 Baseball Factory Team One Futures East standout has a 2.25 ERA through three starts this season.
Hunter Bishop | OF | Arizona State
Hunter’s speed and power combination has been on display so far this season. The 2015 Under Armour All-American is hitting .362, slugging .809 with five homers (matching a career high), 13 RBI, 18 runs scored, adding 10 walks and is 4-for-4 on stolen bases.
Tanner Burns | RHP | Auburn
Tanner earned SEC Pitcher of the Week honors with a dominant shutout over Cincinnati. He allowed just two hits while striking out 15. Through three starts and 19 2/3 innings pitched, Burns sports an 0.92 ERA, giving up two earned runs with an opponent average of just .106.
MD Johnson | RHP | Dallas Baptist
Named the National Pitcher of the Week by Collegiate Baseball Magazine, MD continues to be one of the best pitchers in Dallas Baptist history. Last week, the senior defeated Houston Baptist throwing 6 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out 15 and allowing only one hit. Johnson, who attended an Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout in San Antonio, TX back in 2015, has walked just three hitters and 30 strikeouts in 17 1/3 innings, holding opponents to a .169 average.
Robby Martin | OF | Florida State
The freshman has been a major reason that the Seminoles are off to a 10-0 start. Robby is leading the team with a remarkable .538 average and has seven doubles, one home run and 21 RBI’s. Martin participated in the 2016 Baseball Factory Futures East Showcase and was a 2017 Under Armour Pre-Season All-American.
Logan Soole | OF/LHP | Metropolitan State
Logan earned Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors thanks to an incredible two-game stretch against Mary (ND). He went 5-for-9 with two doubles, two homers, nine RBI’s, seven runs scored, two walks and added a stolen base. He also pitched a scoreless inning. Soole attended an Under Armour Baseball Factory College PREP event in Lakewood, CO and Baseball Factory’s Team One West Showcase in 2013.
