Baseball Factory Player Conall Roberts Scorching Bat Key To Holy Cross Academy’s Success
It hasn’t been easy facing the Holy Cross Lancers Baseball team lately. Especially the team’s leadoff hitter, third baseman Conall Roberts.
The junior from Mount Laurel, NJ has helped lead his team to a 9-2 record as of April 22nd and the team has posted three shutouts already this season. Conall is racking up the hits from the top of the order, collecting 10 hits in 32 at-bats with 15 runs scored, 10 walks, three doubles and five RBI.
We have watched Conall grow as a baseball player and as a person the last three years while attending various Baseball Factory events. Conall, who sports a 3.96 GPA in school, is making an impact in the classroom and making an impact on the diamond too.
Conall first attended an Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout in Trenton, NJ and four months later at Baseball Factory’s Select Training & Competition at Pirate City in Bradenton, FL, we saw the makings of an impressive player both offensively and defensively that could handle the pressure of manning the hot corner.
Throughout 2014, we saw Roberts five times participating in various events to continue showing growth and development at the plate. At a Factory Development Institute National Select Weekend in October of that year, Roberts showed the type of teachability that scouts and coaches love, being receptive to new ideas at the plate and during the athletic development sessions, leading him to hit the ball with some pop.
He was still developing in December of 2014 at Baseball Factory’s Christmas Camp & Tournament Pirate City’s showing as a hard worker with a solid approach at the plate and great lateral range defensively. In 2015, Roberts attended three College PREP events in New Jersey and Maryland, and each time, showed that his impact on the diamond will play to the next level. Scouts were impressed with the ability to make all plays with a strong arm across the diamond. Working with Baseball Factory coaches, Conall continues to make tweaks to his game and improve his overall stock on the diamond.
It was that culmination of success that led him to Mesa this past January for the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament where he showed his future on the diamond is a bright one with solid skills defensively all weekend and at the plate as scouts noted that he his hands worked inside the baseball and the ball jumped off the bat to all fields.
