Coby Boulware, Eight Others Qualify With Top 60-Yard Runs in Arizona
An impressive nine players from the event in Arizona qualified for the Top 60-yard leaderboard. Eight of the nine are underclassmen, with the lone upperclassman, Coby Boulware (Cave Creek, AZ) running the day’s fastest time at 6.75.
The parade of quick underclassmen started with 2018s Cruz Hamilton and Kyle Carriker (both also from Cave Creek, AZ) running a 6.95 and 6.96 respectively. Also clocking a 6.96 was 2019 grad Ian Ponce (Sahuarita, AZ). 2018s Joe Terlizzi (Scottsdale, AZ) and Dylan Wilhide (Dewey, AZ) along with 2019 Javan Montoya (Thatcher, AZ) all got under 7 with a 6.99. 2019 Michael Gallegos (Maricopa, AZ) ran a 7.10 and 2019 Luke Hornbeck (Gilbert, AZ) posted a 7.21 rounded out the speedsters qualifying from Arizona.
While the session out west had a lot of qualifiers, the Tennessee event had the fastest player of the weekend in Roland Williams, III (Arlington, TN). Roland, a 2017 grad, vaulted onto the leaderboard by recording a time of 6.64. One other player from Tennessee also qualified: 2018 grad Tyrin Cox (Jackson, TN) ran a 6.96.
The final two players to make the leaderboard over the weekend came from the session held in Plymouth Meeting, PA. 2018 Jake Topolski (Mount Laurel, NJ) ran a 6.87 while Anthony Brown, Jr from Philadelphia, PA was timed at 6.94. Topolski has lowered his 60-time roughly four tenths of a second since we saw him in April of 2015 (was 7.27 at the College PREP event in Plymouth Meeting, PA).
