COVID-19 Statement From Baseball Factory
Dear Factory Families,
The concern for the health and safety of the players, families, staff, scouts, and coaches who attend Factory Athletics events is our greatest priority. Therefore, given the developments and concerns brought on by COVID-19 (Coronavirus), Factory Athletics has decided to postpone all events scheduled through April 30th, 2020.
The current guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is to limit gatherings of over 10 people and to practice social distancing until the end of April. After the end of April, we will be looking to open our tryout and evaluation events in select cities nationwide with strict guidelines for attendance, breaking our sessions down into two hour blocks to accommodate 10 players max. During those events, we will be instituting strict social distancing protocols, sanitizing all equipment, and providing hand sanitizer stations. More details will be released in due time.
We are closely monitoring the daily status of the coronavirus and are following guidance from the CDC, WHO (World Health Organization) as well as state and local health officials. We want to get back on the field as soon as possible, so we’ll continue to send updates on our event schedule weekly, or sooner if warranted. We will update our community through our website, email, and social media channels.
If you are enrolled in an event that is postponed, please know that a credit for use at an upcoming Factory Athletics Event this year will be automatically issued.
In addition, to help better serve our players in this time of need, we are developing the following new products which will be released in short order to include:
- Distance hitting and pitching instruction. Given the shut down in youth, high school, and college spring sports we are creating a sign up form to enable players to connect with our instructors via video conference to help keep players sharp.
- Send in your video for evaluation and promotion. We understand that college coaches and pro scouts are grounded. We still want to help our high school players be “seen.” Instead of attending physical events in the next two weeks, you can send in an existing video – have it edited and evaluated by our team and included in our National College Coach Database to help in your recruiting efforts.
- College Recruiting Guidance. Given the massive disruption for college programs, we will help you form an updated plan of attack for recruiting and connecting to coaches, catered to your schools of interest and best fits.
- Metrics Match. See what it takes to play at some of the best conferences and schools in nation. Ever wondered what exit velocity current PAC-12 or college players that attend LSU, AZ State etc. had when they were your age and came to a Factory Event? See how your metrics compare. Build a plan to improve to reach your goal
We know these are challenging times for everyone. Please know we are here for you and are willing to help in any way possible.
Please be diligent and stay safe! We look forward to seeing you back out on the field soon.
All the best,
President of Factory Athletics
