The Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament brings together a selection of the nation’s top 8th and 9th grade players from across the country.  Every player is handpicked to train and compete against other top talent and prepare for the spring season.

Since the start of the Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament in 2014, the event has been a spring board for talented players to continue growing their game and showcase their skill set.  This selection of MLB Draft Picks and former All-Americans took the field at past Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournaments:

Trejyn Fletcher – 2017 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-American, 2nd round pick in the 2019 draft by the St. Louis Cardinals

Steven Ondina – 2017 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-American, 2019 Under Armour All-American

Jalen Greer – 2016 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-American, 5th round pick in 2019 draft by the Oakland Athletics

Baseball Factory Results

With over 5,000 players drafted into professional baseball, and 440 alone in the 2019 MLB Draft, the Baseball Factory knows how to develop talent and get High School players the exposure they need and deserve.  In 2020, 70 of the 160 players chosen were Baseball Factory selections.

Over the past 2 years we have had the #1 overall pick, Spencer Torkelson who started with us at a Baseball Factory Middle School program, #2 overall in Bobby Witt, Jr who was a Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-American and Under Armour All-American at Wrigley Field, and #4 pick JJ Bleday and Riley Greene who also graced the fields of our Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-American events as well.

In addition, 100% of Div. I and Div.II programs and 96% of Div. III have at least one BF Aumnus.

Event Staff Has Included:

CJ Beatty:  CJ played in the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago White Sox organizations for making it to the high A level. He played several years of independent ball as well. Beatty played his college ball at North Carolina A&T University. He is currently scouting for the St. Louis Cardinals and is also known as “The Baseball Motivator”

TC Calhoun:  TC is a former Assistant Coach at Transylvania University. He also coached previously at Emory & Henry College and Asbury University in KY. In 2010 Calhoun served as the Assistant General Manager of the Pulaski Mariners Minor league team. Over the past 5 years TC has worked with the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees as an Associate Scout. He currently serves as an Area Scout with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Brian Tollberg:  Brian pitched 4 seasons at the University of North Florida earning Academic All-American honors in 2 of those years. Following his stellar college career, Brian would go on to pitch 12 years in professional baseball, including nearly 3 seasons as a starting pitcher for the San Diego Padres. In his first week in the majors he was named the National League player of the week and would go on to lead the Padres in ERA that season. During his playing career, Brian played with a number of stars including Hall of Famers Tony Gwynn and Ricky Henderson as well as being part of a number of championship teams in the minors.

Joe Lake:  Joe’s first experience with the Baseball Factory was in 1995 at age nine when he attended a Baseball Factory Youth Camp. Joe went on to participate in various Baseball Factory events including the Baseball Factory All-American Tournament and the Exclusive College Recruiting Program. Through assistance from the Exclusive Program staff, Joe received a scholarship to play his college baseball at James Madison University, where he became a two-time team captain. In addition he was named an All-Conference and All-State (VA) player after his senior season. Upon graduating from JMU, Joe rejoined the Baseball Factory team where he was the Director of the Maryland Training Department.

George Carroll:  George played professionally in the Toronto Blue Jays organization as a catcher after signing as a free agent out of New York Tech. He graduated Cum Laude from NY Tech where he was a Captain of the baseball team. He currently serves as a catching coach in the Toronto Blue Jays organization.

Brady North:  Brady currently the Minor League Hitting Coach with the Tampa Bay Rays High A affiliate; The Charlotte Stone Crabs. He is a former assistant coach at Cumberland University where he worked with hitters, outfielders. He served as the Director of Hitting and Mental Performance at Top Level Athletes in Orlando, FL. He also served as a hitting coach in the Cape Cod League for the Wareham Gateman.

Phil Olson:  Phil knows a thing or two about saving games, as he was the all-time saves leader for Florida State. He played in many big games over the course of his career, from the Little League World Series to the College World Series to the USA National Team. From teaching kids to calming nerves, to a nasty slider, to ironing out mechanics, Phil is an expert in all things pitching. He also spent some of his career throwing from a low arm slot, giving him the unique ability to work with relievers who already throw from down there, or are making the switch. Phil played professionally in the Mets organization and uses all of his experience to help young pitchers…and always with a smile on his face and an approachable presence.

Lance Carter:  Selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 21st round of the 1994 Major League Baseball Draft out of Manatee Community College. In 2003 Carter became the Devil Rays Closer where he was selected to the All-Star game and recording 26 saves that year. Following his playing career Carter spent time as the pitching coach at USF. Carter is currently a coach in the Boston Red Sox Minor League System.
