  • Position C
  • Height 6'1''

Scouting Report

Blake is the most unique prospect we've seen in a long time - maybe ever. It is tough to think of another player who could potentially be a first round pick at three different positions - C, RHP, SS. His skill set is outstanding with loud tools to go along with the ability to use them. Blake is also a leader and competitor which is proven in the way that it seems every team he is on wins - including last year's Texas State Championship team at Sinton HS. At the Baseball Factory All-America Game Blake took home MVP honors after going 3-4 with 5 RBIs, 3 runs scored, and a runner thrown out trying to steal on him. Despite the high-level versatility, it appears that Blake's best fit is behind the plate. He handles the defensive duties with ease thanks to athleticism, good hands, feel for the game and big arm strength. As a hitter, his LH bat profiles great at the position, and he has a strong, accurate swing that utilizes the whole field with present HR power. He is unfazed by velocity and appears to see and react well to spin. Overall, with a run-producing bat at the premium position of catcher, the case can be made that Blake is the top player in the entire 2023 class.

Scouting Report

Aidan is one of the top players in the country with a swing that has produced at every level. He has excellent natural feel to hit with rhythm in his trigger mechanism that gets him ready to hit on time consistently. The hand movement in the trigger flows nicely into attack and helps him generate outstanding bat speed leading to loud contact (105 mph exit velocity). His timing and bat speed lead to present power with potentially more still in the tank, but he does not sacrifice any of his hitability to get that power. With good bloodlines and a high baseball IQ Aidan is a polished hitter with an advanced approach. Defensively Aidan possesses the feet, hands and arm to play anywhere on the dirt (and even the corner OF spots) though he looks to profile best at 3B. He gets good reads off the bat, has a very quick exchange and a good internal clock that allow him to be extremely reliable in the infield. Overall, this is a complete prospect who should go off the board early in this year's MLB Draft.

All the positives you would expect from a QB (athlete, leader, competitor, toughness) are present here and carry over to the diamond. In Kansas City, at the Baseball Factory All-America Game, Colin showcased why he is considered one the best prospects in the entire 2023 class. His move to contact as a hitter is as quick and efficient as anyone in the country and it comes with some juice. He drove balls to all parts of the park and he does it with ease in the box. Colin showed his defensive versatility and willingness to play wherever needed at the event. He worked out at SS and showed natural actions, sure hands and a strong, accurate arm, and then flashed the same skills at 3B in the game and used his athleticism to patrol the OF as well. Kevin can flat-out hit. Some guys just have a natural ability to square up balls when it matters - in games - and he has it. After taking his usual impressive, and professional, batting practice on the workout day, he went 1-3 with a triple during the Baseball Factory All-American Game. Kevin spent the summer taking quality at bats against the best arms in the class, and continually hit balls hard to all parts of the park. He just seems to see the ball and react to it better than others. Combine that with excellent balance, rhythm, and a short quick stroke, and you have perhaps the best pure hitter in the 2023 class. Kevin also has clean actions and sure hands in the IF allowing him to play multiple spots well. Add in outstanding makeup and you have one of the top prospects in the country.

Adrian plays with confidence and life in his body and is both reliable on the routine play and capable of making highlight reel plays as well. At the plate his short, quick stroke works from both sides of the plate. Everything George does on the field looks natural and smooth. His right-handed swing is advanced and ultra-efficient, making him one of the top hitters in the 2023 class. He has natural rhythm and is quiet while stalking the pitch. When he decides to let it fly his path to the ball is short and quick and he makes an excellent move through contact using lower body leverage and keeping the barrel in the zone through a full finish. He accelerates the bat head quickly and has both barrel accuracy and present power. Most importantly, the swing works in games and he has a history of coming through in big situations. Defensively George has good feet, reliable hands and an accurate arm across the diamond. He shows the ability to anticipate and read balls well off the bat, enhancing his range. Cameron is a physical, intimidating presence on the mound with the stuff to match. He throws a heavy fastball from a 3/4 slot that has arm side run and sink in the mid-90s. The pitch is effective enough that he could roll through most high school lineups throwing only that. He does complement it, however, with a slider that has late break to it and a change that he uses sparingly. Travis started on the mound at the Baseball Factory All-America Game and showed why many consider him the top RHP in the 2023 HS class. He is an intimidating presence on the mound at 6'6"/220 and his 99 mph fastball explodes on hitters and tied the record for hardest pitch we have ever recorded in the history of the All-America Game. He actually hides the ball some too, so that FB really jumps on hitters for a number of reasons. Travis works at a great pace on the mound and he attacks hitters confidently with the heater. He does complement that with a good slider (that he sometimes adds velocity to making it more of a cutter) and a very good changeup that offers a good differential in the low to mid-80s. Travis is a worker and an athlete who is meticulous in his preparation and has the makings of a big-time starting pitching prospect.

At the Baseball Factory All-America Game, he threw two scoreless innings while mixing his stuff well, led by his low 90s fastball that showed life through the zone. Despite the long levers, Chance repeats his delivery very well and the ball jumps out of his hand. To complement the FB, Chance mixed in a slider that has 2-plane break with good spin and tilt and a change with late tail and sink that he has confidence to throw at any time. All the pieces are in place here, as it is easy to envision the velocity ticking up as the off-speed stuff becomes even more effective. He showed the ability to manipulate both the speed and shape of his curveball showing a get-me-over to get ahead in the count and then tightening the break and burying it to get swing-and-miss. It is hard to find prospects like Braden. His 6'4"/215-pound frame has plenty of present strength and he is an outstanding athlete! An excellent basketball player and a legitimate TE prospect on the gridiron early in his HS career, Braden is a throwback 3-sport star with huge upside on the diamond. His prodigious RH power continued to show up in the workout at the Baseball Factory All-America Game thanks to his leverage and the ability to accelerate the bat head very quickly. His move to the ball is short and efficient allowing him to catch up to velocity and offering him the chance to adjust well to off-speed stuff. As a defender Braden plays low in the infield despite the big frame and has quality hands and plenty of arm across the diamond. On top of all the physical traits, it is obvious that Braden loves to the play the game. He is always there to take throws from outfielders or catchers, to pick up balls or to take extra swings. Garrett has good feel for his changeup that he throws with confidence and good arm speed. His 3rd pitch is a breaking ball with 2-plane break that shows promise. The combination of his big fastball and durable frame, make Garrett a must-see this spring.

Jake is an advanced LHP who just seems to always pitch deep into games and win. He is in control on the mound with an athletic, repeatable delivery that allows him to fill up the strike zone. His fastball sits comfortably in the upper 80s/low 90s and he pitches to both sides of the plate. His breaking ball acts an out-pitch and his change comes out like the fastball and has some tail and sink. Overall, this is a mature arm with all the pieces of a starting pitching prospect.

Scouting Report

Tate is a pitching prospect with excellent present stuff and a ton of upside. He was outstanding during his outing at the Baseball Factory Florida Showcase featuring a low 90s fastball and one of the better breaking balls in the class. His fastball comes from shorter arm action and has some late life that allows it to get on hitters in a hurry - they don't seem to react well to it. On top of that, Tate has one of the best breaking balls in the class. It is a hard curve with tight rotation and sharp downer action to it. He can manipulate it to throw it just to get it over for a strike and then bury it as a put-away pitch. Tate's 3rd pitch is a developing change that has some fade to it. Overall, this is a strike thrower with an out-pitch - a great combination!

An excellent frame, live arm and good bloodlines make Paul an intriguing prospect in the 2023 class. Scouting Report

Luke is an outstanding RHP prospect who was excellent in his outing at the Baseball Factory West Showcase. His 6'4"/195-pound frame is athletic and imposing on the mound. He works from a fairly quick-paced delivery with a shorter stride that seemed to have his fastball getting on hitters in a hurry. Of course, in addition to the deception, the pitch was consistently 92-94 mph with life. Luke throws two breaking balls, a slider and a curve. While they have similar shapes, he varies the velocity to upset hitters timing. His slider has late bite to it with 3/4 tilt and he throws it in the mid to upper 70s. It buckled some knees and got some swing-and-miss at this event. The curve has similar shape with a bit more downer action and he throws it in the 66-67 mph range, landing several for called strikes. Luke's final pitch is a change that was 67-70. He does not throw it a ton, but it shows promise with some run and good arm speed. Overall, Luke has the look of starting prospect at higher levels with even more still in the tank presently.

Sam is an intimidating presence in the batter's box, standing in at 6'4"/210 pounds from the left side - and he backs it up! He can really swing the bat. He keeps his swing simple with a consistent hand trigger and a balanced approach that results in lots of loud contact (100 mph exit velocity). There is loft to the stroke as well - leading to legitimate HR power, especially to the pull side. Sam is also dependable and athletic around the bag at 1B. He has sure hands and excellent feel for the position. Sam can also jump on the mound effectively, but his highest upside is as a run-producing bat at the next level.

Defensively, Raudi was a SS growing up and he shows good hands and lightning-quick exchange on the dirt with feel around the bag. Coleman provides an enticing combination of present strength (6'3"/208), speed (6.72 in the 60) and left-handed power (99 mph exit velocity). He showcases that strength and athleticism in all that he does on the field. His LH swing uses a leg kick and extra bat waggle for rhythm and timing before whistling the bat through the zone. He makes a coordinated, strong move through contact and has loft power. The ball comes off his bat hard, and he is aggressive in the batter's box. Coleman moves well defensively in the outfield showing closing speed and the ability to play multiple spots. This is a middle-of-the-order bat at the next level.

Aidan runs his fastball into the mid-90s thanks a loose, whippy arm stroke that generates a ton of arm speed. He slings it from a 3/4 slot and the ball gets on hitters in a hurry. It is a particularly uncomfortable look for right-handed hitters. His breaking ball is a high spin offering with late 2-plane break, and he mixes in an occasional change. Justin is an extremely talented athlete who gets better each time we see him. His combination of speed (6.60 in the 60) and LH power (99 mph exit velocity) is hard to find and should make him an appealing prospect in the 2023 MLB Draft. His stands in the box well and has lots of loft to his fluid stroke. The ball jumps off his bat and he showed HR power to all fields during BP at this event.
