Sean Guilbe Rises Into 2018 Top 10 With 94 mph Exit Velo
2018 graduate, Sean Guilbe from Reading, PA, vaulted into the 2018 Top 10 in Exit Velocity recording an impressive 94 mph last Sunday in Plymouth Meeting, PA. The right-handed hitting infielder has present strength and can certainly impact the baseball. Another 2018 that topped 90 mph was Ty Hill (Saltillo, MS), who recorded an Exit Velo of 91.
Other 2018s that qualified for the leaderboard were Jake Topolski (Mount Laurel, NJ) at 88 mph, Shane Shepherd (Tucson, AZ), David Donohew (Peoria, AZ) and Anthony Brown, Jr (Philadelphia, PA) at 86 mph and Joe Mattia (Chester Springs, PA) and Cole Howard (Burlison, TN) checking in at 85.
The biggest exit velocity of the weekend came from Kenny Littlefair. The 6’2”, 200-pound catcher from powerhouse Chaparral HS in Scottsdale, AZ recorded 96 mph at the session at Arizona Christian placing him on the 2017 leaderboard. Other big numbers posted by the 2017 class included 90 mph from Ian Diaz (Philadelphia, PA) and 89 mph from Anthony Lipsey (New Albany, MS).
The 2019 class was well represented over the weekend with seven players putting their name on the leaderboard. Gage Woods (Coldwater, MS) who threw 85 mph from the mound was impressive with the bat as well recording an 86 mph exit velo. Also touching 86 was Noah Thompson from Glendale, AZ. At 85 mph were Ben Brantley (Hernando, MS) and Jacob Correa (Peoria, AZ). Correa had an impressive workout qualifying for three leaderboards: exit velo, pop time and raw velocity. Rounding out the qualifiers were Joseph Ventresca (Little Egg Harbor, NJ) at 83 along with Kendall Stanley (Bylas, AZ) and Peter Schimmel (Bethpage, NY) who both recorded 80 mph.
