Stanford Commit Cody Jensen Touches 86 mph With Fastball Velocity
Stanford commit Cody Jensen (Roseville, CA) really stood out on the mound at the Kentfield, CA workout. The 6’2” RHP has an athletic delivery and clean, loose arm action that led to 86 mph velocity on his fastball. There is no doubt that more is in the tank and he shows a feel for his curve and change as well. The 2018 grad throws strikes and has a presence on the mound that is normally seen in more mature pitchers. He also swung the bat well, but this is a premium prospect on the mound.
Fellow 2018 RHP Darien Smith (Jacksonville, FL) touched 84 mph in his bullpen session placing him on the leaderboard as well.
Also qualifying from the Florida session were a pair of 2019s. 6’6” RHP Brennan Keil (Ormond Beach, FL) also touched 84 mph and looks to have a very bright future, while lefty Dalton Smith (Valdosta, GA) topped out at 81 mph. Sean Flowers, a 2019 player from Healdsburg, CA recorded a velocity of 78 mph also qualifying for the leaderboard.
