Top Exit Velos – 2016 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament

Maximum exit velocity was recorded as part of the Easton HitLab station, where teams reported on either Saturday or Sunday depending on their schedule. Many players took advantage of the opportunity both days, with several marking improvements in their exit velocity from one day to the next. Maximum exit velocities shown below have been rounded to the nearest whole number.

Nine players reached at least 100 mph, led by 2017 C Beau Hanna (Winder, GA) at 102 mph. Just four tenths off the top measure was 2017 1B Trent McMullen (Omaha, NE) at 101.6, followed closely by 2017 OF/1B Michael Giordano (Pembroke Pines, FL) at 101 mph.

SS Matt Tarabek of Irwin, PA (a Fordham University commit, and three-time Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament participant) and C Logan Walters (Moss Point, MS) reached 100 mph to lead the class of 2016, followed by four-time Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament participant OF Hayden Freeman (Hoover, AL) and 3B Mitchell Barrow (Washington, MO) at 99 mph. Twenty-one other 2016 graduates posted exit velos of at least 90 mph, including Howard College commit and three-time Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament participant 1B Jonathon Arrieta (El Paso, TX) at 97 mph.

At 100 mph and nipping on the heels of the 2017 leaders were OF Zachary Daniels (Stockbridge, GA) and Wichita State commit 1B/3B Paxton Wallace (Greenbrier, AR), followed by a group of five players at 98 mph including Florida commit SS Brady McConnell (Merritt Island, FL). Eight more 2017 graduates reached at least 95 mph, with another nineteen recording exit velos between 90 and 94 mph.

SS/3B Jeff Bruyntjens (Laguna Beach, CA) led the class of 2018 at 98 mph, with OF Miko Rodriguez (Ada, MI) just off his bumper at 97 mph. Those two held a comfortable lead over C Joseph Bowers (Harrisonville, MO) at 93 mph, followed by five other 2018 grads close on his heels in the 90-92 mph range. Fifteen more qualified with readings of at least 85 mph, including a logjam of eight players at 87 mph.
