Powered by Baseball Factory’s Team One, you’ll play with the Baseball Factory team against the best competition in the country in the 16U championships. Our experienced coaches will provide the instruction necessary to raise your game to the next level. This event is invitation-only.

Players Receive:

Training with professional coaches at first-class facility

  • Six days of intense training and competition with professional coaches
  • Highly accelerated instruction in all aspects of the game including: hitting, fielding, pitching, catching, and base running
  • Players work with our professional instructors between games to fine-tune skills
  • Players are invited to participate in the complimentary Baseball Factory Skills Challenge Day. Testing to include the 60 yard dash, arm strength, exit velocity. Top performers are posted on the Team One Scouting Blog

Show your skills in game-play against top-level teams

  • Wood bat ONLY tournament – games are seven (7) innings in length
  • Teams will play three (3) pool play games with a four (4) game guarantee; weather permitting
  • Opportunity to test your skills against some of the most talented teams in the region
  • Top teams and top players bring out college coaches and professional scouts from the region
    • Representatives from 21 college programs attended last year’s event, including: UCLA, Pepperdine, Cal State Fullerton, San Diego State, Seton Hall and USC.

What to expect & post-event benefits

  • Guaranteed scout on every field for maximum exposure
  • Each tournament features a complimentary real-time scouting blog highlighting daily top players for college recruiters/professional scouts and teams to view. Check out last year’s 16U Tournament Hub, with scouting reports, video footage and list of colleges and scouts in attendance
  • Your personalized player web page will be updated with a written evaluation based on your performance that you can send off to college recruiters and pro scouts. Your profile will also be updated in our online searchable player database, where college coaches login daily to recruit players
  • Receive corrective videos targeted specifically for you to continue your development, post-event

Event Staff Has Previously Included:

Khareth Bartee: Khareth is a native of Omaha, NE. He attended Iowa Western Community College and graduated from Creighton University. In 2000, he was an All-Region XI Second Team player and signed with the Kansas City Royals. He now works with Baseball Factory at various Player Development Camps across the country.

Jimmy Johnson: Jimmy brings over 40 years of professional baseball experience to the Baseball Factory, having worked events with the company the last 12 years. He’s been in various hitting coordinator and managerial roles with the Astros, Yankees, Royals, Dodgers, and the Colorado Rockies. He was also the infield, hitting, and field coordinator for the Rockies. He most recently served as the hitting coach for team China during the WBC, and has worked with Major League Baseball and their facilities in China. Jimmy conducts professional hitting and defensive lessons in the Phoenix area. He played professionally for seven seasons with the Houston Astros and has coached the Senior National Team in Prague

Kevin Riggs: Riggs was a standout player at East Carolina University and was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds. He spent seven years in the minors and was selected to the All-Star Team four times. He was among the top 10 batting leaders three times and was the Norwich Navigators MVP & Offensive Player of the Year in 1996. Riggs spent time coaching in the Colorado Rockies organization from 2007-2014 and has since worked with the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Mike Surina: Michael played his college baseball at Chaffey Community College for two years and the University of La Verne for two years. At La Verne, he was two-time First-Team All-Conference and All-Region honors in his senior year. Michael played two seasons of Independent Minor League baseball for the Tijuana Cimarrones and Yuma Scorpions in the Golden League and Fort Worth Cats of the American Association Baseball League. He is now the head baseball coach at Chino High School in Chino, California.

Important Tournament Info:

  • Teams are guaranteed four games
  • Program cost includes lodging for players with a roommate (double queen bed hotel room)
  • Meals and all local transportation are also included to give that full fledge college road trip experience!
  • Players that are traveling alone will be met at John Wayne airport by a Baseball Factory staff member.
  • Players will receive a Baseball Factory jersey and hat
  • Players will receive online access to Baseball Factory’s Recruiting, Education and Development (R.E.D.) Manual
  • Players need to bring all necessary baseball equipment for tournament games (please note: players must use Wood bats ONLY)
