in Pirate City (Session 1)

Join us in Pirate City – the spring training home of the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Official Southern Home of Baseball Factory – to compete in tournament play against top players from around the country. Plus, you’ll train 10+ hours each day with professional scouts, former pro players, and former college coaches to take your game to the next level. This event is invitation-only.

Four Days of Training with our Professional Staff

  • Take part in highly accelerated training for hitting, pitching, defense, base running and team fundamentals. 
  • Receive instruction on how to take your game to the next level on and off the field! Players need to be prepared to play at a higher level and compete!
  • Focus on improving a player’s mental performance on the field.

Test Your Skills Against Top Players from across the Country

Athletic agility testing and baseball specific training

  • Learn baseball specific weight training, agility and proper running technique.

Updated Baseball Factory Player Page that can be emailed to college coaches nationwide

  • Your player web page will be updated with a written evaluation based on your performance at the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. 

Post-Event Exposure and Ongoing Support to help Navigate the College Search Process

  • As a Baseball Factory member, you will have access to your very own Player Development Coordinator for College Recruiting questions!
  • Additional valuable information from Baseball Factory’s academic counselor will be accessible online through the Member’s Section of baseballfactory.com.
  • Your profile will be updated in our online searchable player database, where college coaches login daily to recruit players.
  • We will promote your performance with Baseball Factory through email campaigns to coaches and scouts.

Event Staff May Include:

George Carroll: George played in the Toronto Blue Jays organization as a catcher after signing as a free agent out of New York Tech. He graduated Cum Laude from NY Tech where he was a captain of the baseball team. George currently coaches in the Blue Jays organization.

Kory Dehaan: Kory is a former Major League outfielder with the San Diego Padres. He attended Morningside College and was a 7th round pick of the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1997. He garners almost a decade of coaching in professional baseball with the Padres & Pirates. He is currently a manager in the Pirates minor league system.

Brady North: Currently the Director of Hitting and Mental Performance at Top Level Athletes in Orlando, FL. Serves as Assistant Hitting Coordinator for Baseball Factory under Coach Talmadge Nunnari. Brady coached at Cumberland University serving as the hitting coach. Also played for Coach “T” while at Jacksonville University.

Nelson North: Nelson played in college at Mississippi. Following his playing career, he coached multiple college programs. His coaching experience includes: Associate Head Coach at Belmont University, Cumberland University, University of Tampa, and University of South Florida. Among North’s accomplishments are developing seven pitchers and three catchers who earned All-America honors at Tampa as well as coaching 15 players who were drafted into professional baseball.

Talmadge Nunnari: Coach “T” currently serves as the Hitting Coordinator for Baseball Factory. He played college baseball at Jacksonville University, where he was an All-American. He was drafted by the Montreal Expos, and in 2000, made is MLB debut. He served as the General Manager and Field Manager of the Pensacola Pelicans, a Professional Independent League Team. Following his time in Pensacola, Talmadge went back to Jacksonville as an Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.

Phil Olson: Phil knows a thing or two about saving games; he was the all-time saves leader for Florida State. He played in many big games over the course of his career, from the Little League World Series to the College World Series to the USA National Team. From teaching kids to calming nerves, to a nasty slider, to ironing out mechanics, Phil is an expert in all things pitching. Phil played professionally in the Mets organization and uses all of his experience to help young pitchers – and always with a smile on his face and an approachable presence.

Teddy Regan: Ted is originally from Fall River, Massachusetts and has an extensive coaching background. He is a former assistant coach at Eckerd College in Florida. He has also coached in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League with the Bourne Braves and the Wareham Gatemen. He was the Director for River City Baseball for 15 years before his time at Eckerd College, and coached the USA/Japan International Friendship Series in 1996. The Fall River Herald News awarded Ted with the ‘Coaches Who Make a Difference’ award while he was an assistant at Bishop Connolly High School.

Karsten Whitson: Whitson played in the 2009 Under Armour All-America Game, Powered by Baseball Factory. He is a former first round selection of the San Diego Padres, but chose to play at the University of Florida and had a decorated career with the Gators. Karsten earned Freshman All-American recognition from Baseball America in 2011 and was part of two College World Series teams with the Gators. He also earned a Gold Medal as a member of the 2009 USA 18-U National Team at the Pan American Junior Championships in Venezuela.

Taylor Valentine: Taylor is currently the assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator for Centre College. He began his collegiate playing career at Milligan College (2010-13) before playing at Asbury University as a middle infielder (2014-15). He then spent three years at Asbury as the associate head coach, helping to build the program into a top-rated NAIA Baseball program for student-athletes. Valentine took his coaching expertise to the University of Illinois-Chicago where he coached all UIC position players and hitters in 2019 as the Flames won the Horizon League Championship and earned a spot in the NCAA CWS Louisville Regional.

Important Event Info:

  • Players will stay on-site at the Jackie Robinson Sports Complex and will be roomed with other players attending the event. All players will be provided with 3 meals a day and lodging.
  • Players that are traveling alone will be greeted by Baseball Factory representatives at baggage claim.
  • Players are fully supervised 24 hours a day (*Players Rooming Together)
  • All players will be provided with three meals a day, lodging and ground transportation.
  • Players receive a Baseball Factory shirt and hat.
  • Water/Gatorade will be distributed throughout the day for players.
  • Players need to bring all necessary baseball equipment for training and games
  • Players may bring spending money for souvenirs and/or extra snacks
  • Airfare is NOT included in the registration fees
