Players we realize that live game play combined with top notch instruction in a safe environment has been tough to come by.  Dr. Pepper Ballpark, home of the Frisco RoughRiders (Class AA affiliate of the Texas Rangers), has been tapped as the new host for our National Player Development training.  We will be able to provide you with a true National Player Development experience that is within driving distance of your house.  Get the live at-bats and corrective feedback you need to push the boundaries of your game to a new level!

About the Event:

Select 9th – 12th grade players who qualify from surrounding states will be part of this second to none pro experience.

All training will take place in small groups.  12 hours of game play and instruction!  We will also do Video Review with Diamond Kinetics Analysis Breakdown (Pitching, Defense and Hitting) for all players.

Mike Landis: Director of Operations and Player Development

  • Coach Landis has over seven years of experience, helping to develop over 3,000 players during that time.
  • He has also coached collegiately at Division III Hood College in Frederick, MD and at the high school level for over 10 years.

 

 

 

 

Steven Leonard – Catching & Hitting

  • Current Catching Instructor with the Baseball Factory
  • Former Minor Leaguer in the Colorado Rockies organization
  • Played at Campbell University (2014 Big South Champion)
  • 2015 All Big South Catcher and Big South All-Tourney team
  • Played at Iowa Western CC (2012 National Champion)

Connor Myers – Outfield & Hitting

  • 4 year starter at Old Dominion University
  • Drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2016
  • Concluded 2019 season in AAA (Iowa Cubs)

 

Mike Austin – Pitching & Hitting

  • Drafted by Kansas City Royals
  • 3.18 ERA in the Arizona League
  • 2 season with the Washington Wild Things
  • UMBC standout (America East Champion, NCAA Regional appearance, 2017 America East 2nd Team All-Conference)

Day One – September 12

Advanced Outfield play session 1

Pitching and catching – session 1

12:00pm – 1:30pm

Lunch break and cool down period

Competition, live games and in-game instruction

Day Two – September 13

8:00am – 12:00pm

Infield – double plays, slow rollers, tags and back hands

Outfield – Drop step, routes, “do or die” throws, making a “good arm – great”

Catching – winning strikes, footwork, “blocking the right way”

Pitchers – new grips/pitches, holding runners on, “how to pitch”

12:00pm – 1:30pm

Lunch break and cool down period

1:30 – 4:00pm

Competition, live games and in-game instruction
