Trey Ball III, LHP & OF

    New Castle, IN, 2013
    • HT/WT: 6'6/180
    • High School: New Castle Chrysler
    • College Commitment: University of Texas - Austin

Ball has a wiry, lanky frame at 6-foot-6 and 180 pounds. He is a talented two-way player, and one that is difficult to like more either way. On the mound, he runs his fastball into the low 90s. His arm works pretty well from the glove, and then even better out front. He rotates his core well to drive his arm through, and works down the mound well - giving his fastball good down angle and taking advantage of the leverage in his body. He runs well and is a talented defensive OF, giving him the potential to stay in CF at the highest levels. His left handed stroke is solid, the move is loose and full and he holds his balance well. Among the more physically gifted all around athletes in the 2013 class.

    Gilbertsville, PA, 2013
    • HT/WT: 6'3''/200
    • High School: Boyertown
    • College Commitment: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

AJ is a physical RHP with a strong lower half and very good arm speed. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with some tailing action to a low 90s fastball. He has a somewhat long arm swing on the back side with quickness through release and good finish to his pitches. His slider has late tight break with good tilt and is an effective offering. He uses his change sparingly though he looks to have good feel for it. Overall, AJ has the look of a future power arm.

    Pell City, AL, 2013
    • HT/WT: 6'2''/195
    • High School: Pell City
    • College Commitment: Samford University

Brasher has a solid build at 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds. He worked a quick 1-2-3 inning this outing, not necessarily allowing all of his stuff to come out. He did show an upper 80s fastball with run and sink, along with a low 70s breaking ball. He appeared to have some feel to subtract from his fastball, probably a two seamer, that ran even more down and away out of the zone - this pitch to retire a good LHH even in the count at 1-1. His arm worked with depth from the glove and with some speed out front, front a three quarters angle and a bit across his body. He has shown more velocity and a sharper breaking ball in longer looks, and these have made him one of the better RHP in the 2013 class.

    Houston, TX, 2013
    • HT/WT: 6'2''/200

    • College Commitment: University of Texas - Austin

Along with the obvious ML bloodlines, Clemens has room to fill out his 6-foot-2 200 pound frame. He is a two-way talent, with low 90s velocity on the mound and the combo of a good 1B glove and solid left handed stroke. His delivery very much resembles that of his father, with the overhead move of the hands and pause/sink move on the back leg. His fastball was up to 90 this short outing, and he showed feel for a 12-6 curve in the low 70s. He has room to grab more snap out front with improved extension and finish. His defensive actions are athletic at 1B, he moves well into position to play the ball and around the bag. At the plate, his left handed stroke is flat and he drives the ball from gap to gap. He is more projectable on the mound, both in terms of physical maturity and improvements to his extension and finish.

Diaz has length and width to his 6-foot-3 195 pound frame, there is plenty of reason to expect him to fill out and get bigger and stronger. He features excellent rhythm to hit, along with a full and loose left handed stroke. His hands are quick with what appears to be minimal effort, and he rotates his core well to extend thru and drive the ball with ease. He projects for even more power as he fills out. Defensively, he moves well and shows plenty of arm strength - the ball leaves his hand very well, and maintains the life into the target. At this event, he was only 15 years old - making his current tools even more impressive.

    Catawba, NC, 2013
    • HT/WT: 6'3''/170

    • College Commitment:

Hunter is a tremendous young RHP prospect. He has a lean, projectable frame with an ultra-quick arm that leads to mid 90s velocity. He gets good downhill plane to his fastball and is willing to throw it inside. His curveball is a swing-and-miss pitch with big late break and he has a feel for his change which isn't a pitch he currently needs to throw often. Overall, this is a big arm with upside and good bloodlines who should be a 1st round pick.

Hatch has a solid build at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds. He worked a quick 1-2-3 inning this outing, so the look wasn't long enough for all of his stuff to come out. He did show a heavy upper 80s fastball and an upper 70s breaking ball with depth. He worked quickly and threw strikes with both pitches. We have previously seen - and he is known to have - among the better change ups in the 2013 class. His delivery has a slow tempo, and he works with good balance - allowing his arm to work back and through with ease. The ball jumps from his hand, and his pitches all have good life. He is another of the RHP in the 2013 class with the makings of a solid three pitch mix to go with up and down fastball velocity.

Hernandez has a tall and lean frame with room to add size and strength. He is a standout defender in the infield at present, his hands are among the best around, while his feet work well also. His right handed stroke is explosive, has some moving parts but has a lot of speed and life through contact. He is exciting to watch already, and is another of the more projectable players in the 2013 class.

Jackson has a solid build with present strength at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds. As the only 2014 graduate position player at the event, he more than held his own. He showed excellent catch and throw skills, along with solid receiving and blocking skills behind the plate. At the plate, he featured a full stroke with excellent extension. The ball jumped off his bat, allowing his hard line drives to carry with backspin through the gaps. His combination of offensive ability at a premium position makes him among the top prospects in the 2014 class.

McClure has an athletic build at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds. He defensive actions are fluid, and he moves with ease. He is among the better runners in the 2013 class, which is another reason he stands to stay in CF up to the highest level. His right handed stroke features a balanced and quiet action with his body, and a loose and fluid move with his hands and arms. He is a line drive type hitter with some flashes of power, an approach that suits his speed well.

He has rhythm to hit, and his stroke is compact and loose with quick hands. Defensively, he has the talent to stick in CF. Combination of top of the scale speed, solid left handed bat and potential to play CF at highest level make McPhearson a coveted draft prospect.

He is a line drive type hitter, with a solid move from the right side of the plate. He has handled numerous quality arms well with the bat, allowing for a variety of offensive roles to be envisioned for him in the future. Morales has a lean, athletic build at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds. He features a low 90s fastball and an excellent low 80s change, along with an upper 70s breaking ball with depth. His three pitch mix is among the best in the 2013 class, and he has excellent feel for pitching to go along with it. His arm works from the glove with depth, and his slow tempo delivery gives it time to work back out front with ease and quickness. The ball gets out of his hand with life, allowing for the sizzle on his fastball and late life on his secondary pitches. He is among the more coveted RHP in the 2013 class.

His defensive actions are quick and lively - his catch and throw skills are highlighted by quick feet, a clean transfer and excellent arm strength. His receiving and blocking skills are solid as well. He shows right handed raw power along with plenty of bat speed, thanks to an aggressive move through the zone. Smooth actions in the OF with good reads allow him to easily track balls down. Handles the bat well from the left side. Ray has a slender, athletic build at 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds. His defensive actions are smooth and quick. His left handed stroke is simple and balanced, and generates consistent line drive contact. He maintains his balance well, and consistently delivers the barrel to contact. His move has looseness and speed through the zone.

Smith is among the best overall hitters in the 2013 class AND the best defensive 1B in the 2013 class. Though it appears that he lands a bit heavy on his front foot, he in fact has great balance along with a steady head to hit. His move is fluid and loose, and his barrel accuracy second to none. A good enough athlete to play OF at a high level, he excels defensively at 1B with what some feel is Gold Glove type talent. An extremely talented all around player.

Tirado has a lean, athletic frame at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds. He features excellent rhythm to hit, along with a loose and fluid left handed stroke. He appears to have patterned his game after Robinson Cano, and it is especially apparent watching him hit. He doesn't have that kind of power yet, but it stands to reason it could be possible as he adds strength. At present, he has more of a line drive gap to gap type stroke, and he does have speed and life to hit with. Defensively, he features athletic actions and solid hands and glove action. He appears better suited for the 2B side of the bag, where he projects to develop into an offensive force. He was only 15 years old at the time of this event.

Tyler has a lean frame with length at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds. Even in a short outing like this one, it was apparent that he has a good feel for pitching. In addition to his low 90s fastball, he called upon his mid 70s breaking ball and low 70s change early and often. His fastball and change have good arm side life, since his fingers are on the side of the ball at release. The same thing gives his breaking ball a bit of a sweeping break. His arm has depth from the glove, along with some wrap, and offers the hitting some deception with a lower arm angle out front than his posture would normally indicate. An interesting RHP with deception and a usable three pitch, including velocity.

He is comparable to Andy Pettitte in his build, delivery and stuff. Aiken topped at 89 this outing, and showed the ability to move his FB around the zone. Though it may not look like the most fluid arm stroke, it is effective both out of the glove and out front since it works in sync with his body so well. McKinney has an athletic build at 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds. His left handed stroke is pure - without any complication or moving parts. He maintains great balance and simply delivers the barrel to the ball directly and with acceleration. His body is slow and quiet while his hands and barrel move with speed to and through contact. Versatile defender with ability to play all three OF spots.

Meadows has an athletic build with room to add size and strength. His left handed stroke is natural and fluid, with speed and balance. He projects to hit for power as he matures physically. He is a talented defensive outfielder with potential to play CF at the highest levels. Among the handful of players in the conversation for the first overall pick in the 2013 MLB draft.

His defensive actions are fluid and he moves with body control, has plenty of arm strength for the left side of the infield. Simsboro, LA, 2013
    • HT/WT: 6'3''/220
    • High School: Ruston
    • College Commitment:

An impressive athlete with a big, physical frame, above average speed and excellent bat speed. Some refinements could unlock huge upside. Wilson is a physical presence at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds. His left handed raw power makes the ballpark look small, balls came off his bat flying to all parts of the field - even balls that looked mishit easily went off or over the wall in both gaps. Projects as RF defensively, where he shows a very strong arm - arm strength was among the tops at the 2012 UA All America Game. Body, arm strength, left handed raw power and athletic ability are a rare combo - and one that pushes Wilson up many draft boards.

Woods is a physical presence at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds. He features left handed loft power, the ball flies off his bat with seemingly little effort. Even with a short stroke, the ball jumps off his bat. Defensively, he profiles at either LF or 1B - is a good enough athlete to play either, though his skills seem to fit better in the OF.
