14 Baseball Factory Alumni Earn All-Star Recognition

This year’s MLB All-Star Game will take place Tuesday, July 15th at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Baseball Factory is pleased to announce that 14 alumni have been selected as All-Stars, having successful 2014 seasons thus far.

Baseball Factory alumni Jose Bautista and Josh Donaldson have earned starting positions on the American League roster this year. While Bautista has appeared in four other MLB All-Star Games, this will be Donaldson’s debut on the All-Star stage. Despite finishing fourth in the AL MVP vote last year, Donaldson missed an All-Star selection. This year he has earned his spot on the roster ranking fourth in runs, sixth in home runs, and sixth in RBIs in the American League so far this season.

Sean Doolittle was selected as relievers for the American League, while Brandon Moss and Ian Kinsler were named a reserves.

On the opposing side, Factory alumnus Tyson Ross will be making his first All-Star Game appearance on the mound for the National League. He has posted a 2.93 ERA, with 111 strikeouts and only 42 walks, while holding opponents to a .228 batting average this season. Veteran Troy Tulowitski will be returning for his fourth All-Star game, and third as the starting shortstop, where he was the leading vote getter in the National League.

Zack Greinke was also selected as a pitcher for the National League team accompanied by Factory alumni and reserves, Giancarlo Stanton, Daniel Murhpy, Josh Harrison, and Devin Mesoraco.

In an exciting Final Vote, Baseball Factory alumnus Anthony Rizzo received 8.8 million votes from fans to earn the final roster spot for the National League.

The 2014 Midsummer Classic is loaded with talent and we are very proud of all of our alumni who have received the honor to compete with the best in the game. Tune in to FOX on July 15th at 8pm ET to see the action at Target Field in Minneapolis.
