Tool Grade Scale

Tools are the core abilities of baseball players. For position players, there are five: Arm Strength, Fielding Ability, Running, Hitting Ability and Raw Power. For pitchers, the number varies: Fastball, Breaking Ball, Changeup, Other Pitch (if applicable) and Control.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are: to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities, and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
