2009 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament TOP 60-YARD DASHES

TOP 60-YARD DASHES

Our coverage of the 2009 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament leads off with a listing of the top 60-yarddash times. There was little to no wind at the time we ran, and the tracks were solid with closely cut grass – in short, the conditions were very good for runners.

We don’t always see players run at 100% of their capability in January, many players don’t have the luxury of the warm weather for outdoor activity this time of year. However, this year the running times were up a bit when compared to years past. Thirty players checked in with times of 7.00 or better, while another twenty five players posted times between 7.01 and 7.10.

There is a fair amount of content on this site on the topic of the 60-yard dash. If you are interested in reading more about the topic, please visit the Baseball Factory blog

IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ

Release times, running times, and pitch velocities were gathered by our scouting staff at this event  – just as they are at every Baseball Factory event. Our scouts are well trained, experienced and professional in their fair and unbiased approach to evaluating each player. Scouting is subjective by nature, but running an accurate stopwatch is a skill that is developed with experience. As such, the times recorded for each player are an accurate measure of the specific performance that was scouted.

With that in mind, please look at the below numbers as what they are. They are measurements of a particular skill performed by a player at a specific time, taken by capable and experienced scouts. That particular time or velocity for a particular player may have been his best, worst, or somewhere in the middle. We are fully aware (since we previously scouted every player in attendance) that many players have run faster, thrown harder, or posted lower release times at a previous event (Baseball Factory or otherwise).
