2011 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Top 5: 2013 Grads Honorable Mentions
With over 260 players participating in the 2011 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament, powered by Baseball Factory, our scouts were treated to players from across the country that had many tools including sub seven second speed, sub two second pop time and above 89mph velocities. While we cannot honor everyone that attended we did want to highlight a few players that stood out.
The following are the Top 5 2013 Grads Honorable Mentions from the 2011 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament. They are listed in alphabetical order.
Angel Garced | MIF | Jackson, NJ | Jackson Liberty
A switch-hitting middle infielder with an advanced offensive approach from both sides and sure hands in the field.
Franco Guardascione | 3B | Lakeworth, FL | Trinity Christian Academy
A young 3B with present strength, smooth actions in the field and a simple stoke that leads to hard contact.
Gabe Levanti | C | Baldwinsville, NY | Baldwinsville
An offensive catcher with a strong, repeatable swing that drives balls to all fields. He also flashed a 1.91 release time to 2B.
Drake Parker | OF | Union City, TN | Union City
Left-handed hitting centerfield prospect with quick twitch fibers throughout. Leadoff type bat with quick hands – he gets down the line (4.14) and is an aggressive defender.
Carlos Pena-Tate | RHP/3B | Columbus, OH | Columbus Global
Big, strong 6’4” frame is imposing on mound, but surprised scouts with impressive BP rounds. He is raw now, but has natural power that is hard to find and could lead to future as a position player.
