Baseball Factory Alumnus, Stephen Vogt, Captures Class-A Florida State League Batting Title

After an exciting Florida State League post-season run, Baseball Factory alumnus Stephen Vogt of the Charlotte Stone Crabs was presented with the league’s 2010 batting title. Aside from training with Baseball Factory coaches, Vogt participated in Baseball Factory’s Premium Video Program and Exclusive B.A.T.S. Program. Both programs aim to provide high school players with advisory and preparatory support in an effort to actively assist them in the college recruiting and placement process. During the process, Vogt impressed Baseball Factory scouts and was asked to play on the Baseball Factory National Team in the 2002 Arizona Senior Fall Classic. Vogt’s efforts paid off in 2002 and 2003 when he was selected to be a Pre-Season All-American during his junior and senior years. With Baseball Factory’s assistance Vogt was offered and accepted a spot at Azusa Pacific University.

The Florida State League batting title is awarded each year to the player who achieves the highest cumulative batting average by the end of the season. Vogt wrapped up his 2010 campaign with an impressive .345 batting average in 106 games for the Charlotte Stone Crabs. Only four other players batted over .300 in the league. Along with the highest overall average, Vogt was first with a .511 slugging percentage and second with a .399 on-base percentage. His performance at the plate was unparalleled to other players in the Florida State League.

Baseball Factory wants to congratulate Stephen Vogt on the 2010 Florida State League batting title and an exceptional year! We look forward to seeing him progress as a player at the next level.
