Long before Triston Casas stepped between the lines at Fluor Field at the West End, home of the Boston Red Sox Class-A affiliate Greenville Drive, he was making a name for himself on the high school diamond at American Heritage High School in Plantation, FL. His skills continued to flourish in larger stadiums, brighter lights and bigger stages with the Baseball Factory, ultimately gaining the attention of talent evaluators across the country as a two-time Under Armour All-American.

One of Casas’ first events with the Baseball Factory was at their signature program: the Under Armour National Evaluation Tour, in Davie, FL back in 2014. In addition to Baseball Factory events held where Triston and his team played in select tournaments, he attended two UA Baseball Factory Showcases (Futures East and National Florida) in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

The same event that helped launch Triston will be making a stop at Fluor Field to work with middle school (grades 6th through 8th) and high school athletes (grades 8th through 12th) for the National Skills Evaluation on Sunday, September 8th.

These events combined with the professional evaluation and world-class instruction in Davie, gave Triston the tools necessary to be seen – and heard – with his loud, impact bat and defensive skills at first base.

I started with Baseball Factory at a National Tryout back in 2014,” Casas said. “From that initial workout and evaluation, I was invited to other Factory events that resulted in getting to play at Wrigley Field as an Under Armour All-American. I enjoyed my journey with Baseball Factory and recommend that any young players get started by attending the upcoming event at Fluor Field.”

After being named to the All-America roster in 2016, Casas collected an RBI double for the National squad in the 2017 game and just 11 months later, was selected 28th overall in the ‘18 draft by the Boston Red Sox.

The 19-year old began this season full of promise with the Drive and it’s paid off as his tremendous season led to being named a South Atlantic League All-Star in June. As of August 19th, he leads the Drive in home runs (18), RBI (76), walks (57) and slugging percentage (.469).

Each year, thousands of baseball players attend a Baseball Factory National Tryout to see how they stack up against other players their age across the country. By receiving an evaluation of their skills from Baseball Factory scouts, along with feedback on things they do well and suggestions on areas of improvement, players receive a framework for their development. For Triston, his path to greatness began at a National Tryout event and now it’s your turn.

Baseball Factory’s long tradition of holding National Tryout events at Fluor Field continues in 2019 and you can be next to Build Your Way to Greatness. The middle school portion of the Under Armour Baseball Factory National Evaluation Tryout kicks off at 8 am and high school athletes get on the field at 12 pm.
