The American Baseball Coaches Association recently announced it will honor former University of Kentucky Head Coach and Baseball Factory Consultant Keith Madison with the ABCA/Wilson Lefty Gomez Award.  The ABCA is giving their highest honor to Madison in recognition of his knowledge, integrity, and passion for the sport of baseball.

Madison spent 25 years as head coach at Kentucky, becoming the school’s all-time wins leader and third all-time in SEC history with 737 wins.  Madison’s Wildcats made NCAA tournament appearances in 1988 and 1993; set a Kentucky single-season record with 41 wins in 1991; and averaged 29 wins a season during his tenure.

Coach Madison joined Baseball Factory as a consultant in 2005 after retiring from the University of Kentucky in 2003. As a consultant with the Factory, Madison has helped to strengthen connections between Baseball Factory, college and professional coaches to ensure that players are properly developed and capable of playing at the next level.  His knowledge of the college recruiting process from a head coaching perspective has proved second-to-none to the Baseball Factory College Recruiting Program.  Not to mention his long list of connections in the college baseball world has assisted in placing many of Baseball Factory’s Exclusive College Recruiting Program players.

Coach Madison will be presented the ABCA/Wilson Lefty Gomez award Friday, January 4th at the ABCA’s Hall of Fame/Coach of the Year Banquet in Chicago, IL.  From the entire team at Baseball Factory, congratulations to Coach Madison on this tremendous well-deserved honor!
