Baseball Factory’s Team North fairs well at IBC World Series
Baseball Factory North battled injury and fatigue to finish the IBC World Series in fourth place amongst 25 teams from across the country.
The team comprised of high school players from across the country finished with an impressive 7-2-1 record, coming up just short of the championship game.
Coach Justin Cronk, Baseball Factory’s College Relations Director, was impressed with the level of play he witnessed in Clearwater, Florida.
“This was one of the best groups of players I have been around,” said Cronk. “Especially when you take work ethic into account. They were a great group of guys who love to play and play it hard.”
Team North proved their strength – mentally and physically – on the final day of competition when they played four games over 15 hours with just one three hour break. Despite the hectic schedule, the team managed to capture victories in the first three games that day, losing the final game by three runs.
When asked to recognize key contributors, Cronk was hesitant.
“No one person can be pinpointed, everyone did something to contribute to the success of this team,” said Cronk.
In fact, when Cronk was given the responsibility of distributing awards to the top three players, he declined saying it was impossible to choose amongst such a talented team.
Baseball Factory congratulates Baseball Factory North on their recent success in the IBC World Series and wishes each player the best of luck as they continue their baseball career.
Congratulations also go to Team South for finishing seventh in the tournament.
