2017 Under Armour All-America Baseball Game Date Announced

Baseball Factory has recruited top high school talent for the 10th annual game in Chicago, Illinois on July 29th 

Baltimore, MD (January 17, 2017)Under Armour, Inc. (NYSE:UA, UAA) the leader in performance footwear, apparel and equipment, today announces the date of the 2017 Under Armour® All-America Baseball Game, powered by Baseball Factory as well as the names of the first nine players to be selected. The game, which will be played at iconic Wrigley Field on Saturday, July 29th, is the 10th annual event, bringing together the top 40 high school players in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. The game will be broadcast on MLB Network.

Under Armour All-Americans are selected by a committee of Baseball Factory scouts and will compete in an American vs. National team match-up. The All-America Baseball Game caps off a four-day, all-encompassing baseball experience staffed by some of the game’s very best players and coaches, including by a formal workout in front of Major League Baseball (MLB) scouts and a home run derby.

Below are the first nine players who have committed to compete in the 2017 Under Armour All-America Game:

Triston Casas— IF, 6’4, 240 – American Heritage School, Pembroke Pines, FL

Mason Denaburg— RHP, 6’3, 195 – Merritt Island HS, Merritt Island, FL

Nolan Gorman— IF, 6’1, 210 – Sandra Day O’Connor HS, Glendale, AZ

Joe Gray— OF, 6’2, 195 – Hattiesburg HS, Hattiesburg, MS

Jordan Groshans—IF, 6’4, 188 – Magnolia HS, Magnolia, TX

Jarred Kelenic— OF, 6’0, 190 – Waukesha West HS, Waukesha, WI

Matthew Liberatore— LHP, 6’4, 200 – Mountain Ridge HS, Peoria, AZ

Noah Naylor— C, 6’0, 195 – St. Joan of Arc, Mississauga, ON, CAN

Cole Wilcox— RHP, 6’5, 225 – Heritage HS, Chickamauga, GA

At Baseball Factory, our network of professional scouts is constantly searching to identify the most talented high school players for selection to the Under Armour All-America Game,” said Steve Bernhardt, Executive VP at Baseball Factory and Chairman of the Under Armour All-America Game Selection Committee.  “Over the past 10 years, we have seen hundreds of extremely talented athletes compete in the event and propel themselves towards successful college and professional baseball careers.  The 2017 crop of players has the ability to continue that tradition when they take the field this summer at Wrigley Field, home of the World Series Champion, Chicago Cubs.”

Since the game’s inception in 2008, 247 of the 286 draft eligible players from the Under Armour All-America Game have been selected in the MLB Amateur Draft including 71 first round picks. Top players from the 2016 draft include: Riley Pint (2016 No. 4 Overall Pick, Colorado Rockies); Corey Ray (2016 No. 5 Overall Pick, Milwaukee Brewers); Zack Collins (2016 No. 10 Overall Pick, Chicago White Sox); Will Benson (2016 No. 14 Overall Pick, Cleveland Indians); Forrest Whitley (2016 No. 17 Overall Pick, Houston Astros); Delvin Perez (2016 No. 23 Overall Pick, St. Louis Cardinals); Carter Kieboom (2016 No. 28 Overall Pick, Washington Nationals); Dylan Carlson (2016 No. 33 Overall Pick, St. Louis Cardinals); Taylor Trammell (2016 No. 35 Overall Pick, Cincinnati Reds); Joey Wentz (2016 No. 40 Overall Pick, Atlanta Braves).
