Pitchers, Holliday Shine in Baseball Factory All-America Game
The 2023 Baseball Factory All-America Game powered by Under Armour featured the top high school players in the country competing at Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers. The American squad prevailed 4-2 over the National team thanks to outstanding pitching and a 2-4, 2 RBI performance from the game’s MVP, and the top player in the 2025 class, Ethan Holliday.

Nine pitchers toed the rubber for the American team and combined to strike out 18 hitters. Leading the way by striking out the side in their innings were winning pitcher Connor Gatwood, Texas product Casan Evans and lefty David Shields. Gatwood and Evans both showed dominant stuff while touching 97 mph with their fastballs and Shields made his inning look easy with an advanced 3-pitch mix. 2-way player, and perhaps the top athlete in the 2024 class, Konnor Griffin struck out 2 in closing out the 9th inning to seal the victory.
.@ConnorGatwood filled up the zone with 93-94 FB his first hitter, then bumped up to 96 and touched 97. Looked like CH at 88-89, firmer breaking ball 85-86. Struck out the side against one BB pic.twitter.com/7Va84ei10X

The rotation for the National team featured a perfect inning from big LHP Boston Bateman who struck out all three hitters he faced, RHP Landon Victorian who breezed through his inning showing advanced command of his repertoire, and a loud inning from RHP Lazaro Collera. The Miami native was up to 97 and flashed a swing-and-miss breaking ball. The National rotation also featured the hardest thrower of the day in starting pitcher Carson Wiggins. Carson touched 98 mph with his lively fastball thanks to an extremely quick arm.
.@BostonBateman threw just four balls in the course of striking out the side. He filled up the zone with FB strikes at 90-91, topped 92. His breaking ball was a solid 77-79 mph offering pic.twitter.com/YlPbmVzdaz

In addition to Holliday, Evan Taveras contributed an RBI single to get the American side on the board in the 1st inning. Caleb Bonemer provided the loudest contact of the day with a double that left the bat at 101 mph.
For the National team, 3B Kale Fountain led the way going 2-4 with an RBI. Michael Mullinax had a single, stolen base and run scored, Carter Johnson walked and scored National’s other run, while HR Derby Champion Aukai Kea went 1-2 with a stolen base. The other run was driven in by a sacrifice fly off the bat of Anthony Quigley who impressed throughout the weekend, also garnering two walk and stealing two bases in the game.
@USFBaseball commit @Antquigley01 showed off a lot of athleticism this weekend!
Anthony showed off power to all fields during his rounds of BP & stole 2 bags in the game.
I would not be surprised at all to see him make a huge jump on the prospect list over the next 8 months. pic.twitter.com/7FrxlGyK5O
