The Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout Tour makes a stop in Conway, Arkansas to Hendrix College on Sunday, September 27th.

Hendrix is a liberal arts college, situated in Conway, about 30 miles from Little Rock and home of the Hendrix College Warriors at Warrior Field. The field was constructed in 2007 and opened for Hendrix to play in 2008. The field has two full-sized batting cages, two bullpens, oversized dugouts and stadium-style lights.

Both Daltan Lovell and Joey Pinney are from Arkansas and attended Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryouts in North Little Rock and both stayed within the state to play collegiate baseball.

Daltan Lovell

Lovell, a 2013 graduate from Harrison High School in Harrison, AR, helped to lead his team to the Class 5A Arkansas State baseball semifinals and was a four-year letter winner at Harrison.

In addition to attending a National Tryout in North Little Rock back in October 2011, he was selected as a 2012 Under Armour Pre-Season All-American, showing good feet, sure hands, and good lateral angles to the ball in the infield. With the bat, Lovell showed good balance, bat speed and solid separation. 

After graduation, Lovell redshirted his freshman season in 2014. In his first healthy season as a redshirt freshman, Lovell saw action in 15 games, starting three behind the plate for the Red Wolves, going 3-for-17 with four RBI and two runs scored as he worked his way back to full health.

Following the 2015 collegiate baseball season, Lovell recently played for the Joplin Outlaws in the 2015 MINK (Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas) Collegiate Summer Baseball League and was selected to the 2015 MINK All-Star Game. He’s putting together a nice season for the Outlaws with a team-high .313 batting average with five doubles, two triples, 11 RBI’s and 16 runs scored. He was selected to the South All-Stars team as a third baseman.

Joey Pinney

Pinney was a three-time All-Conference and All-State selection for the Central Arkansas Christian Mustangs, having graduated from the high school – located in North Little Rock – back in 2013.

The 6’1″, 210 pound nutrition major will be heading into his junior season at Central Arkansas after a freshman season in which he played 26 games, starting 17 in the infield, having collected three multi-hit games that season, scoring four runs and driving in four. This season, Pinney collected three doubles to go along with a home run and nine RBI in 16 games for the Bears.

Pinney attended an Under Armour Baseball Factory College PREP event in North Little Rock back in October 2011.
