WRIGLEY FIELD TO HOST SECOND ANNUAL UNDER ARMOUR ALL-AMERICA BASEBALL GAME, POWERED BY BASEBALL FACTORY

The Game Showcases the Nation’s Top High School Baseball Players

COLUMBIA, MD (May 26, 2009) – Under Armour and Baseball Factory today announced that the 2009 Under Armour All-America Baseball Game will once again be played at the historic Wrigley Field on Saturday, August 8. This is the second year that Under Armour will serve as the game’s title sponsor.  The game will air live nationally on ESPNU.

The 2009 Under Armour All-America Baseball Game, powered by Baseball Factory will showcase thirty-six of the nation’s best rising juniors and seniors, competing in a Baseball Factory versus Team One Baseball match-up. The players are selected by a committee of Baseball Factory and Team One Baseball scouts.

Since the game’s inception in 2005, 60 participants have been selected in the Major League Baseball draft including Josh Vitters (No.3 overall pick in 2007, Chicago Cubs), Philippe Aumont (No.11 overall pick in 2007, Seattle Mariners) and Brett Lawrie (No.16 overall pick in 2008, Milwaukee Brewers). The game provides players with the opportunity to perform in front of numerous scouting directors and player personnel decision makers from Major League Baseball. Approximately 100 scouts and college coaches attended last year’s game to evaluate the Under Armour All-Americans.

Last year’s game included top performances by Matt Purke (Klein High School, TX), Mychal Givens (Plant High School, FL), Tyler Matzek (Capistrano Valley High School, CA), David Renfroe (South Panola High School, MS) and Max Stassi (Yuba City, CA).  Many of the players from the 2008 game are expected to be selected in the first round of this year’s amateur baseball draft.
