14 Players To Watch At The UAPSAA Tournament
It’s almost time for the Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament and there are plenty of talent that will be talked about all weekend.
Here are 14 players to watch during the event.
Carter Aldrete – SS (2016) – Carter participated in the 2014 Under Armour Southwest Championship 18U and looked smooth and sure handed at shortstop, showing off his soft hands and a plus arm.
Bo Bichette – SS (2016) – Bichette, who has committed to Arizona State University is the son of former major league star, Dante Bichette and the younger brother of former Baseball Factory alumnus, Dante Bichette, Jr. He has great size for his position defensively.
Jack Conlon – 1B/P (2017) – plays first base as his primary position and hails from Sugar Land, TX. Jack’s planned major is business management and sports marketing.
Brandon Dorsey – 3B (2017) – Dorsey has committed to the University of North Carolina. He participated in two Under Armour showcases in 2014 and has great size at 6’1”, 195 pounds. Brandon is well rounded in his skills, working the barrel of the bat through the zone with ease. Defensively, his hands are soft at third base, and does a great job keeping his feet underneath him.
Blair Henley – RHP (2016) Blair attended a National Tryout in Cedar Hill, TX in 2013 and possessed a fastball that sat at 83 mph with great sinking action.
Parker Kelly – P/3B (2015) – Parker joins his brother Carson as a four-time Under Armour Pre-Season All-American and is a University of Oregon commit. Parker currently projects as a shortstop displaying athletic feet with quick,
lateral movement. With the bat, his hands are fast, showing off a nice, easy level swing. On the mound, his control is a plus and throws strikes with all his pitches.
Carter Kieboom – 3B (2016) – Kieboom has committed to Clemson University and is a native of Marietta, GA. Shows good size at 6’2”, 180 pounds.
Ryan Reynolds – 2B (2016) – Reynolds plays on the Houston Banditos summer team and already shows great size (6’2″, 205) at second base.
Joe Skinner – 3B (2016) – Joe has committed to the University of Central Florida. He attended the Under Armour Showcase Futures East event last September and showed great speed, posting a 6.80 in the 60 yard dash. He moves with ease defensively, with soft hands and handled his own in the outfield as well. Skinner is quick to the zone with his bat, allowing him to consistently find the good part of the barrel.
Graeme Stinson – LHP (2016) – Graeme has made a commitment to Duke University and has great size for a 17 year-old (6’5″, 245).
Ryan Vilade – SS (2017) – Vilade participated in the Under Armour Futures Series in Texas back in November, 2013. He impressed scouts with his tools both offensively and defensively, far beyond his age at the time for a 2017 grad. At the plate, he’s confident and relaxed and has good, clean hands in the infield.
JeVon Ward – OF (2017) – Ward participated in the Under Armour Futures West Showcase last September and excited coaches and scouts with his high upside. His bat from the left side is fluid and loose, making hard contact. Defensively, he glides around the outfield with ease, and tracks the ball well.
Bo Weiss – P (2016) – The son of former major league shortstop, Walt Weiss, Bo is a University of North Carolina commit. Weiss attended a National Tryout in Parker, Colorado in 2013 and topped the radar gun at 85 mph on his fastball.
Kenyon Yovan – 3B/P (2016) – Yovan, a 2014 Under Armour Pre-Season All-American, performed well on the mound, hitting 86-87 mph with his fastball and a breaking ball in the low to mid 70’s. At the plate, he drives the ball into the gaps and projects as a run producer.
