In total, 324 Baseball Factory alumni were selected in the 2014 MLB Draft, including 20 first round picks, highlighted by such players as Tyler Kolek, who went No. 2 overall to the Miami Marlins, Nick Gordon (No. 5 overall to the Minnesota Twins) and Touki Toussaint (No. 16 overall to the Arizona Diamondbacks) who were just some of the players that went onto sign professional contracts.
We are proud to present our annual coverage of the Draft, providing in-depth analysis from Steve Bernhardt, Chairman of the Under Armour Selection Committee and Vice President of Baseball Operations for Baseball Factory. The scouting perspective gives a unique look at the nation’s finest players in such top-tool categories as Pure Hitters, Power, Most Athletic and more, in addition to stories and fun insights to our alumni as they prepare for their big day.
Today’s featured coverage highlights former Under Armour All-Americans as the best Pure Hitters in the 2015 Draft class, including standouts like Brendan Rodgers, a right-handed slugger who could be the top overall pick in this year’s Draft. Daz Cameron, son of former major leaguer, Mike Cameron, has made hitting look easy with a solid, right-handed swing that makes contact on a consistent basis. And athletic, left-handed hitters like Nick Plummer and Mitchell Hansen who possess plate discipline and power through the zone who will certainly be able to handle advanced pitching.
