A dynamic, quick-twitch athlete, Chris Newell has several impact tools with his left-handed bat at the top of the list. His swing is short and quick with loft power to all fields, and he has a natural knack for finding the barrel. Chris is a mature hitter who is unfazed by velocity and also reacts well to off-speed stuff.

An instinctual defender, Chris can play all three outfield spots. He reads balls well off the bat, takes quality routes and his straight line speed allows him to run balls down. When at full strength, his arm plays well in right field with carry and accuracy giving him an exciting package of tools to display at Wrigley Field.
