Standing 6’5”, weighing 215 pounds and already reaching into the mid-90s with his fastball, Will Rigney fits the exact prototype of a Texas power arm. He’s an intimidating presence on the mound and gets outstanding downhill plane to all of his offerings. With a slight hesitation in the delivery, it makes it very difficult for hitters to time it properly.

In addition to the big fastball, Will possesses a hard breaking ball with three-quarter tilt that is a legitimate out-pitch. It gets a lot of swing-and-miss and occasional weak contact. To round out his repertoire, Will has a promising change with some fade and good arm action. Add it all together and Will is one of the top pitching prospects in the entire 2019 class.
