Factory Alum Dalton Ernest Commits To Lyon College
2016 OF Dalton Ernest an all-around solid prospect from Pittsburg, TX has committed to attend and play baseball with the Lyon College Scots next year. Lyon is an NAIA school in Batesville, AR and Ernest will bring a well-rounded game to the collegiate level after participating in multiple Baseball Factory events.
The right-handed hitting Ernest will receive an athletic scholarship to play collegiately and is excited and humbled for the opportunity to produce at the next level.
Ernest first attended an Under Armour Baseball Factory College PREP event in Plano, TX last April and showed as a talented and athletic outfielder with a square set-up from the right side of the plate. A few months later, Ernest attended the prestigious Omaha National World Series in July, where he again showed consistency both defensively in the outfield, moving with efficient footwork and displaying correct routes to the baseball. At the plate, he went 6-for-13 during the tournament, hustled and worked hard all weekend long.
Dalton’s skill-set will translate well at the next level, evidenced at his last College PREP event in Lindale, TX last December by his ability to cover ground to his right and left in the outfield and with his athletic setup and ability to drive the baseball to all fields with the bat.
“I always described Dalton as a blue collar type player to college coaches. He’s a field rat, always dirty and just plays hard every day. With his athleticism I see him having a great college career,” says Dan Mooney, Senior Director of College Recruiting for Baseball Factory.
We congratulate Dalton for his accomplishments so far and wish him success at Lyon College.
