Rankings are prioritized by Baseball America and numbered 1 through 10 for each team. This week, we take a look at the Top Prospects from Baseball Factory’s alumni in the American League East.
Baltimore Orioles
Hunter Harvey – RHP (BA’s Rank: #2)
Baseball Factory Lineage: 2012 Under Armour All-America Game Participant
The Skinny: Last season, Harvey showed a fastball that topped out at 96 mph with a sharp, plus curveball from 72-to-77 mph for Low-A Delmarva last season. He started 17 games for the Shorebirds as the Orioles 22nd pick overall in the 2013 Draft went 7-5 with a 3.18 ERA, striking out 106 batters in his second pro season.
In late July, he was shut down with a flexor mass muscle strain in his right forearm. He will not need surgery according to team doctors and if healthy, could likely start 2015 with the High-A Frederick Keys.
Chance Sisco – C (BA’s Rank: #4)
Baseball Factory Lineage: Attended an Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout & Premium Video Program in Azusa, CA (9/5/10)
The Skinny: The O’s took a “Chance” on Sisco with the 61st overall pick in the 2013 Draft and he has not disappointed, quickly becoming the organization’s top catching prospect and the second highest rated position prospect. He played the entire 2014 campaign with the Shorebirds, hitting .340 and helping a young pitching staff from behind the dish.
With Sisco’s defense on the rise, he could see a promotion to Frederick to begin 2015 or in the foreseeable future.
Boston Red Sox
Blake Swihart – C (BA’s Rank #1)
Baseball Factory Lineage: Under Armour Baseball Factory Team One Futures Game 2009, Under Armour Baseball Factory Team One Futures Showcase 2008

He becomes even more appreciated in the Red Sox ranks, being able to switch hit and possessing off-the-charts athleticism. His bat has come along, hitting for average and displaying good pitch recognition.
Henry Owens – LHP (BA’s Rank #2)
Baseball Factory Lineage: Attended an Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout in Costa Mesa, CA (4/5/09), Under Armour Baseball Factory Team One West Participant 2009
The Skinny: Owens has two things that scouts love; size (6’7″) and being a dominant left-handed pitcher. The 36th overall pick in the 2011 Draft has dominated minor league hitters since his first professional season in 2012. He won 17 games last season between Portland and Pawtucket and received the starting nod in the Futures Game in 2014. Scouts believe Owens projects as high as a #2 starter provided he continues to craft his secondary pitches.

Baseball Factory Lineage: 2009 Under Armour All-America Game Participant
The Skinny: Drafted in the 4th round of the 2010 Draft, Cecchini saw time last season with the big-league club, playing 11 games, hitting .258 with three doubles and four RBI. Devin can drive the ball to all fields and shows a great work ethic. He projects as a player who can hit for average with a high on-base percentage. Last season, Cecchini hit .263 with a .341 OBP in 114 games with Pawtucket.
Defensively, he’s ironing out the kinks and could play either third base or left field in the majors.
New York Yankees
Greg Bird – 1B (BA’s Rank #4)
Baseball Factory Lineage: 2010 Under Armour All-America Game Participant
The Skinny: Bird started at High-A Tampa and finished the season at Double-A Trenton in 2014, hitting a combined .271 with 30 doubles in 102 games. Bird has a good eye at the plate, collecting 63 walks last season. In 2013, he drew 107 walks at Single-A Charleston.
Bird can flat out hit, but is still developing the glove at first base. It’s his bat that will carry him through the Yankees system, having the most advanced approach at the plate in the organization, according to Baseball America.
Ian Clarkin – LHP (BA’s Rank #6)
Baseball Factory Lineage: Attended an Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout in La Mesa, CA (2/3/11)
The Skinny: The 33rd overall pick in the 2013 Draft is quickly ascending in the Yankees farm system. Ian started 15 games for Low-A Charleston in ’14, winning three games and striking out 71 batters before moving up to High-A Tampa to finish the season. Clarkin is a three-pitch pitcher and according to Baseball America, has a delivery that “resembles that of Los Angeles Dodgers ace, Clayton Kershaw.”

He’s played both outfield and second base, but could project more to second base because of his bat. Evaluators feel Refsnyder could be an average defender at second base.
Jacob Lindgren – LHP (BA’s Rank #8)
Baseball Factory Lineage: Attended an Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout in Metairie, LA (4/5/09), 2010 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Participant
The Skinny: Lindgren quickly climbed the ladder of the Yankees organization, pitching for four different teams, ending his 2014 season with Trenton where he pitched eight games with a 3.86 ERA. Baseball America predicts Lindgren will have a “good chance to make the Yankees bullpen in 2015.”
He possesses a nice fastball with good run and sink and a power slider in the mid 80’s that already ranks best in the system.
Tampa Bay Rays
Brent Honeywell – RHP (BA’s Rank #8)

The Skinny: Honeywell, the Rays 2nd round pick in 2014, put together a nice first season in pro ball, starting eight games for Rookie Class Princeton, finishing with a 1.07 ERA and holding opponents to a .161 batting average.
Possessing a nice, smooth delivery, which he has been able to repeat consistently, will go a long way for this former Factory standout. Baseball America expects him to start the 2015 season at Low-A Bowling Green.
Toronto Blue Jays
Miguel Castro – RHP (BA’s Rank #9)
Baseball Factory Lineage: Attended an Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout in Orlando, FL (2/3/13)

He quickly moved through short season Vancouver and then made stops in Low-A Lansing and High-A Dunedin, pitching to a combined 2.69 ERA in 2014. He brings the heat with his fastball reaching 99 mph, making things tough for right-handed hitters.
He’s considered a physical specimen by Baseball America and will continue to develop his breaking ball. Age is on his side too; Castro won’t turn 21 until December 24th.
Sean Reid-Foley – RHP (BA’s Rank #10)
Baseball Factory Lineage: 2013 Under Armour Memorial Day Classic 18U Participant
The Skinny: Reid-Foley, at just 19 years old is one of the youngest prospects in the Jays system. He features a nice fastball that gets up to 97 mph and shows good deception in his delivery.
Reid-Foley has stuff that projects as a mid-rotation starter according to Baseball America and his secondary pitches are coming along nicely. He uses a slider that projects above-average and a changeup which he has worked on and is a developmental pitch.
