Baseball Factory to launch Softball Factory division for youth and high school softball players

Softball Factory will provide expert instruction, player development and college guidance for softball players nationwide

COLUMBIA, MD (Feb. 15, 2011) – For over 16 years, Baseball Factory has provided baseball players nationwide with the very best in player development and college guidance. Baseball Factory has helped over 30,000 players to compete at the college level and those players have received $500 Million in scholarships. After years of success assisting baseball players, the organization is excited to announce the launch of Softball Factory, a new division of Baseball Factory. Softball Factory will provide authentic training and college recruiting programs for youth and high school softball players.

Softball Factory will be led by Lea Ann Jarvis, the Director of Softball Operations. Lea Ann was a two-time First Team NCAA All-American while a standout performer at Louisiana Tech University. She went on to coach Division I college softball for 17 years and also played professionally. She then won two World Championships as a player with the USA National Softball Team. With Lea Ann’s experience and direction, the Softball Factory’s coaching staff of former college coaches, former professional players and former college players will provide expert softball training and guidance for players nationwide.

“Softball Factory will have the same ideals, core values and attention to detail that its brother, Baseball Factory, has deployed for the past 16 years,” Steve Sclafani, CEO and Founder of Baseball Factory, said. “Softball Factory will not feature baseball people running softball events. After a nationwide search for this position, we were impressed with not only Lea Ann’s softball acumen and knowledge, but her passion for helping female athletes develop off the field, both in the classroom and from a life skills perspective. Lea Ann simply embodies the Factory way of going above and beyond for student-athletes and providing these players with the very best in instruction, guidance and college promotion.”

The first two events on the Softball Factory schedule will take place on March 6 in Tampa, Fla at the Palma Ceia Little League Complex. A youth clinic will be held from 9 AM to 12:30 PM. The one-day instructional workout will provide training for Little League softball players age 8-12. Players will also participate in fun challenges that will test their performance of different essential softball skills including hitting, throwing, fielding and base running.

The second event will take place from 1 PM to 5 PM and will be open to high school softball players age 13 – 18. The afternoon session will be a Premium Video Program that will provide players with the tools necessary to be successful in their college search. Players will take part in a college recruiting seminar followed by an on-field workout. Players will be evaluated and videotaped during the workout and that information will be placed on a personal web page which each player can use to gain exposure to college coaches.

Other training and college recruiting opportunities will be held in Bristol, Conn., Baltimore, Md., and Tucson, Ariz. over the next few months. More information on any of the events or a registration form can be found on the Softball Factory website at: www.Softball-Factory.com.
