More Than 1 in 3 Baseball Factory Alums on Rosters of Super Regional Programs in 2017
Who will advance to Omaha and look to make their claim as the 2017 NCAA Division I Baseball Champion?
Super Regional match-ups are set with storied programs and some surprise teams in the mix, advancing on as is usually the case this time of year. Four games kick off Friday June 9th, beginning with Kentucky taking on their in-state rival, Louisville at noon. All Super Regional series are best-of-three games with the winner moving on to Omaha and the 71st College World Series.
Other match-ups include: Davidson vs Texas A&M, CSU Fullerton vs Long Beach State, Vanderbilt vs Oregon State, Sam Houston State vs Florida State, Wake Forest vs Florida, Mississippi State vs LSU and TCU vs Missouri State.
In 2017, all 16 programs entering Super Regionals play include at least one Baseball Factory alum on its roster. In total, 190 Baseball Factory alums who have participated in at least one Factory event, are on the rosters of these 16 teams, a percentage of 36% when you look at the total amount of players (535) listed on rosters. Leading the way with Factory alums is Cal State Fullerton with 21 players and Long Beach State right behind with 20.
