OF Ashton Dalessio Dashes Into 2019 Top 3
Going into Presidents’ Day weekend, we’d seen just six sub-6.9 60 yard dashes from the class of 2019, with another sixteen between 6.90 and 7.00. Though a 6.60 from Caden Miller (Newhall, CA) holds down the top spot, the fact remains that sub-seven second times are simply not commonly seen at this age — while sub-6.9 times are exceedingly rare.
At the Valentine’s Day Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout in Brentwood (Long Island), NY, we saw two such times.

OF Ashton Dalessio (Glen Rock, NJ) ran 6.81 to enter third place on his own, while OF Danny Cardito (Malverne, NY) ran 6.88 to tie for the sixth fastest among 2019 graduates.
The best time of the three events (Orlando, FL / Palmyra, PA / Brentwood, NY) held over the holiday weekend was a 6.80, turned in by 2017 OF Kai Nelson (New York, NY) in Brentwood.
The rest of the action came from the class of 2019, just as we saw in the exit velocity category. SS Andrew Cascio (Bellmore, NY) ran 7.09, followed by OF/SS Paul Orbon (New Hyde Park, NY) at 7.15, with SS Trevor Adamo (Ronkonkoma, NY) and SS/OF Cameron Barto (Lancaster, PA) checking in at 7.22. OF Frankie DiMartino (Bethpage, NY) rounded out the group of new leaderboard additions at 7.25.
