Talented Youth Help Baseball Factory Gray Team Post 5-1 Record at UA Southwest Championships
The Under Armour Southwest Championships for 2019 grads and under is in the books with 92 of the very best travel teams wanting to have their claim as the best.
For Baseball Factory’s Gray team, they smashed expectations this past week with a dynamite six-game stretch that got them into the quarterfinals, finishing 8th out of 92 teams in the event.
The gray team finished 5-1 at the Under Armour Southwest Championships for 2019 grads and under and there were plenty of outstanding performances and players to watch in the future, coming from this event.
Check out five such players who helped lead the team to the quarterfinals in the event that was held in La Verne, California at the University of La Verne.
Kevin Ortiz – C/1B/3B, 2019… a top prospect, does everything the right way, plays all positions well with a strong arm, middle of the line up hitter with power to both fields and a plus runner… a coaches dream player.
Albian Amancio – RHP, 2020… amazing work ethic, good composure on the mound and strong athletic body… FB 83-85 mph for 7 innings with 14 strikeouts to help the Factory team to a first round elimination round victory… For the tournament, he pitched nine innings with 17 strikeouts.
Steven Ondina – SS, 2020… this young player Puerto Rican player has swag, confidence and the tools to play at the next level… he projects as a five-tool player with the make up to get to the pro level.
Travis Warinner – SS, 2020… lean athletic body, good actions in the field with a plus arm, quick hands at the plate and a true gamer.
Kenny Tanaka – C/1B, 2019… big body, strong legs, good power to all fields with smooth extension, easy actions on a string frame.
Congratulations to our entire Baseball Factory teams who played in this event! The UA Southwest Championships for 2018 and under, begin on Friday with three Factory teams in the mix (Gold, Gray and Navy)… we look forward to seeing what they’ll be able to do!
