Under Armour Baseball Factory Team One West Showcase Wrap-Up
Here are some more noteworthy performances from the Under Armour Baseball Factory Team One West Showcase at Azusa Pacific University:
-
If you had to win one game at the HS level right now RHP Jeremiah Estrada may be the guy you pick to take the mound. He throws strikes with a long, easy arm action and was 90-93 with his fastball. He also throws his curve and change for strikes.
- Athletic Blake Wagenseller showed very well, as usual. He ran a blazing 6.45 in the 60 and the Stanford commit is an advanced hitter with a single and double in game action.
- Kevin Kendall is a true baseball player. He ran a 6.68 in the 60, showed sure hands in the field and always seems to center balls with his left-handed swing.
- Cal Commit Sam Cachola has a very well-rounded game. He went 3-6 with 2 walks, ran a 6.88, had an impressive BP session showing some pop, and can really play the outfield.
- Another look at SS Nick Hamilton showed more of the same – a young player with the instincts and skills to play the game at a high level. He seems to slow the game down and is always in the right spot.
- Big RHP Johnny Kuhn has serious upside. His delivery is coordinated and easy and he throws three pitches for consistent strikes. His fastball was up to 88 and there is more in the tank.
- Left-handed hitting Derek Park has some exciting tools. He recorded a 94 mph exit velocity, threw 86 mph, is a polished defender in the OF and can swing the bat.
- Carson Seymour is an intriguing 2-way prospect. He has a big frame (6’3”/205) swings it well with flashes of power and is solid at 3B. He also was up to 85 on the mound and used his split as an out-pitch.
- LHP Augie Sylk has easy velocity. His arm is quick and fluid and he currently runs his fastball into the upper 80s with more to come.
- Sam Wesniak should be able to make an impact at Cal early in his career. He can really play the SS position with quick feet, soft hands, good instincts and plenty of arm (90 mph). A 6.9 runner he is an intriguing prospect at a valuable position.
