Joining the rare company of Kyler Murray, AJ Brown and fellow 2018 Under Armour All-American Jerrion Ealy, Maurice Hampton, Jr. has been honored as an Under Armour All-American in both baseball and football. He is one of the top defensive backs in the country on the football field and one of the top outfielders on the baseball field.
Mo brings to the table some of the things you would expect. He is extremely physical and strong, and he can really run (6.41 in the 60). He also has some things you might not expect at this age – a feel for the barrel, arm strength (94 mph raw velocity) and good baseball instincts. He has a short, compact swing that can generate power (98 mph exit velocity in game) to all fields and he is quick-twitched in all that he does.
This dynamic athlete should be a lot of fun to watch at Wrigley Field this summer.
